Tailgating garage

"Really cool idea"...that costs 15-20K per game.

Uhhh, no thanks.
no one ever said it was cheap. look you pay to play. you know tht. if you want a premium exp you pay. if you want suite tickets at canes games, you pay. I dont expect myself or other people in the 100s (outside of the golden canes) doing this, but it is a good idea to use those paddocks and turn it into extra revenue.

this isnt for the attorneys that aren't the beard guy suing insurance companies or John ruizs. we both know that lol.

also, there is also suites for tailgating as well that cost less

OK, let's break this down.

First, it's for the Dolphins. Nobody knows if it will be available for the Hurricanes, and even if so, who would get the revenue? I would imagine the Dolphins, it's a new amenity that didn't even exist when we signed the infinite-term lease.

Second, why would you want people to do this, at least on the collegiate level? Yes, I realize that some guys will be sophomoric small-**** over-compensators, but everyone who spends $20K for a few hours of Look-At-Me suddenly has $20K less to donate to UM.

But, whatever. I know we have a bunch of posters who think that every extra dime that flows into Stephen Ross's pockets is somehow admirable and wonderful.

this is a really cool idea and hopefully the canes use it as well. I for one hate the old school tailgating exp (huge reason why I dont give a **** to tailgate anymore). this would make it a lot more enjoyable
I'll rent you this for half.

lol so you wrote all that and didnt see where i said "this is a really cool idea and hopefully the canes use it as well. I for one hate the old school tailgating exp (huge reason why I dont give a **** to tailgate anymore). this would make it a lot more enjoyable"

thanks for not reading but letting your hatred for ross cloud your thoughts.

as far as revenue, i dont give an entire ****. its a cool tailgating experience. nothing more nothing less as far as im concerned and thought i should share. for real, you shouldnt tell other posters theyre being negative when you did exactly that from the get go bc again you have a hatred for ross.

on top of that, for big games, i can absolutely see this getting purchased by people who show up for the big events (newsflash: that is what miami is a sports city). we will never be anything more than that.

You're clearly getting too defensive here.

Look, I know that you remember your first post. But that's not the post I was responding to. I respond to a lot of posts all over the board, I can't remember everything you said in your original post.

You blew two paragraphs being mad at me, even though I was responding to a more recent post you made, and not the original post. And if you didn't mean anything UM-related about this, you should have posted it in the Off-Topic board. But in the Eye in the Sky board? So sorry if I mentioned the differential between Dolphin amenities/revenue and UM amenities/revenue.

As for your bizarre obsession with defending Ross and claiming my "hatred" for him...good lord, I can't even think of anything appropriate to say here, except that you're getting way too nutty now. I mentioned Ross ONCE in reference to people who defend everything he does, and you're doing it too. I don't like what Ross is doing to the stadium and parking lot, but that doesn't equate to "hatred".

Settle down, you're obviously upset that someone didn't "love" your sharing of the article. Relax. It's just the latest in a long line of things that Ross has done that are not helpful to the NUMBER TWO TENANT for the property. That is locked into a long-term lease. That is CONSTANTLY cited by stadium-construction-opponents.

It's time to build a new stadium and let Ross do with Hard Rock what he will. Dare him to sue us. I don't care. All we have to do is present evidence of all the ways he has changed the property since we signed the lease. No jury in Dade County will rule in his favor.

You either enjoy tailgating or you dont. I wouldnt give up my spot in the secret section that only @TheOriginalCane knows about.

I think we are rapidly approaching end times. When all the people who enjoy tailgating die off, Stephen Ross can convert the entire Hard Rock parking lot into a golf course, and the remaining 25,000 fans can all just Uber to the games. At least on days where there isn't a cloud in the sky.

I’m still ****ed they changed the Maroon lot for Canes games. Went from the nice parking lot to a thin dirt road while 50% of the original spots sit empty as handicapped spots

Exactly.

Why stop at a training facility for his actual team, tennis centers, racetracks, and bougee *** parking spaces where some idiot will pay 10gs to leave his car for 6 hours? Bring in a casino, topgolf, rapids water park, iMax theater... the pastabilities for third-tier income are endless.

Sooner or later, us plebeians attending University of Miami football games are going to have to park at Calder on the Broward County line and then be pulled by retired racehorses on a covered wagon to Stephen Ross' fun-o-rama.

you wrote a novel defending yourself and claiming im upset. maybe you are upset lol

tailgating is one of the main draws for actually going to a game…at least up here. You take out tailgating at patriots game and you would need to pay me to attend a game. I much prefer to watch on my couch with some buddies.

tailgating is still a thing here and I dont think will ever die but this is a nice use of space (tbh, more people show up to UM games to tailgate rather than watch the team). to those saying not worth it -- we aren't the target crowd. this is more for the dudes spending 100k on a vacation type of crowd
