Syracuse WR Trebor Pena enters Portal

Wonder if we will just jump on Pena, or if we are going to see who else enters at WR. The good think about needing WR, is there are always likely to be a lot of options in portal windows. Personally If we can get Pena to a good NIL deal asap, I'd just jump on it and carry on focusing at other positions.

If we rock into next season with Pena, Daniels, Trader and then have Toney, Carr, and Moore... I'm pretty confident in our WR group. I'd still like to add another WR because our Depth at WR is complete *** just from a pure numbers standpoint. But I'd be very confident in this WR group having a VERY high Floor. Maybe we don't have a certified stud (though maybe Trader can be that), but this would be an extremely high floor group. And that would be excellent to give Beck. A guy that can take the top off would still be a good add as that depth piece, but I'd like where we were at.

lucky you, drove 3 hours in a snow storm and all roads headed east from ohio were blocked so we never made it to the game

I guess in hindsight, I'm glad I missed it
 
If you’re looking for a 3rd down machine like X then you aren’t getting any better.

You go after him for the slot and still look for an outside guy with speed which we also need.

I mean if a stud shows up… sure. But I think they envisioned Daniels in that role along with JoJo

Unless you're insinuating that they're pushing Nathaniel out the door, Trebor wouldn't be coming here to share Slot snaps with a True FR.

Pena starts and gets bulk snaps but they will get Toney (back up) involved more and more as the season progresses. Trebor isn’t going to lose valuable playing time. But I’m thrilled with Pena and Toney as my slot receivers.

Because we used 4 WRs throughout last season and Toney is shaping up to be WR4 after a portal WR add

Also unlike Restrepo I’d be surprised if Pena exclusively plays in the slot. Maybe like 75% of the time vs Restrpos like 99% of the time…
 
This dude is leaving for one rea$on… gonna find out how deep them pockets are this portal for sure. Prob gonna have a shot at 3 diff makers in the next couple of weeks.
