For some this may be beating a dead horse but...

This guy needs to finally be shown the door after the season. I'm tired of seeing us get pushed around. Short yardage has been a massive problem for 10 years. We constantly look gassed aswell. And for those who don't get into all the S&C stuff - just turn on ESPN and watch any other team and then watch UM. Physically, we are no where close. We look like a JV team minus a few kids (AQM, Yearby, Carter). The players are constantly lumbering around with zero hints of fast twitch / short area burst. Something has to change in that department.

And for the crowd "but all the NFL guys come back to train with him"- They come back bc of the campus proximity to south beach. It has nothing to do with Swasey. His credentials are servely lacking and if you don't believe me look him up on UMs website. He was a hold over after Tommy Moffit left in 2000. We have a dude with a socialogy degree from Baylor running our strength department.

One more thing- besides Shalala and various other administration bumps... What is the common tred between Coker, Shannon, and Golden (And no I'm talking about poor coaching)???

That common tread I'm referring to is non other then Andreu Swasey! How this pathetic excuse of a SC coach has lasted 3 different regimes is beyond me and quite ridiculous when you truly think about it.

This man needs to go along with the bffs from Jersey.

Part of the reason we get pushed around is because of what the coaches are asking our players to do. Their scheme is designed on strength being important but not necessary. Some of our guys have grown from boys to men in the weight room but the Golden Way of doing things is more important than putting our players strengths in a position to succeed. Exactly why you see guys like Fentress, Crawford playing over guys like Carter. Scheme over Ability

I don't know why all those NFL players, many non Canes, continue to train with Swasey. I guess they like getting pushed around too.

just watch our OL. I'm not even gonna get started on the DL. Cincy.... Fcukin Cincy and FAU were pushing us around all night! Swasey needs to go bro

Trying to run out of the shotgun on 3rd and short is a disaster waiting to happen and 2-gapping/resisting blocks instead of fighting through them is why we get pushed around. Our strength numbers have increased dramatically over the past 5 years, but there's a reason body builders aren't the best football players. Hard work in the weight room can only get you so far. Also, there are a million different training facilities from south Miami, to aventura, and up into boca. Our NFL guys come back to swasey because he gets them right for the season.

South beach. Swasey is not some world renowned strength coach...

They don't go their for their entire off-season. They mostly train at Bommorito's, XPE, or one of the several facilities that now saturate SFL. Those places provide a facility, meals, supplements, and players from other NFL teams and colleges to compete against.

It's unreal. There are somehow STILL people who defend Swasey.

Not one. Not two. THREE failed coaching regimes. I said it 5 years ago when Golden was hired and retained Swasey that it was a bad, bad sign.

Swasey is a personal trainer and that's about it. I cannot understand why people are in love with this clown STILL.

You should have heard Winslow Jr. sucking Swasey's ********s on 790 this week.

Clean house from top to bottom. Everyone from the AD to the towel boy need to be changed. Swasey has made a career off of being the S&C coach during the 2001 championship run. Everyone wanted to know what exactly we were doing to be that much faster and that much more physical than everyone else. He hasn't been able to replicate that some 15 years later. He was the right guy at the right place and has been rewarded long enough for that. Time to move on, no matter how much it may upset former players

Hasn't Kehoe been here these three regimes? I could be wrong. But I don't see a reason to fire him. I think he has done a **** of a job, even though for some reason he gets a lot of ****.

Kehoe is a soldier of the truest form. He follows his orders come **** or high water. We can keep him and Ice.

Everyone else kick rocks.

I've always maintained that Tommy Moffit was the key figure behind our S&C resurgence in the late 90's. I believe Moffit is a disciple of the "Hatch System"of training. I'm certainly no expert in these matters but to my untrained eye the Hatch system was incredibly effective and IMO what we have been missing for well over a decade.

I also find it very odd that we have not made any attempt to bring that system back. I agree with the OP. Our strength numbers may have improved in the weight room but it is not translating to the field. Golden's counter intuitive read and react scheme has much to do this but remember, we were having this same discussion during the Coker and Shannon regimes. Swassey needs to go too.

Yes, gale Hatch guys have won something like 12 of the last 15 national championships.

LSU, Bama, OSU, UF, and FSU, etc.

it doesn't matter how strong we are if our guys keep playing with their pads as high as they do and not chop their feet. next time we play tell me how well we do those two things.

pad level and footwork is the problem

Bring in a good CEO and he'll bring his own people. What does need to be discussed is the coaching budget. If we pay peanuts, expect to get subpar results. This is where the devil is in the details. If you take a look at the top programs around the country, they pay exponentially better than Miami does. Until a change is made, nothing will change.
