Surgery for Mali

Let me remind yall of a little story. The year was 1998. Lance harbor was the golden boy qb, headed to Florida state when that actually meant something. Then he blows out his knee in the big game. Did the west Canaan coyotes pack in the season? No. Moxon ascended and said, “here are my balls, lets win this”. And moxon, even though he was reading Vonnegut instead of the playbook, seized his opportunity and kept the machine rolling. Sure, there were some setbacks. Some mild racism, some severe body shaming. And there was the time they blew the sure fire win because instead of resting, they drank beers and watched their smoking hot English teacher strip until the early dawn. And then, in their final game, the chips were down. And the team looked at their coach, and adamantly refused to take the field. And lance harbor took over as head coach/offensive coordinator, mixed it up with tweeter running the wild cat, for some reason sent their 400 pound center in to block a punt, and ultimately, they realized that this was one night for the rest of our lives, and they pulled it off!!!!

Too many similarities here to count, men. So, who is gonna be our moxon?

You may be right. I might not know ****. But what I do know is that you won’t talk that same **** to me in person.

I would, absolutely, say the same thing to you "in person". Because I just don't give a **** about your implied threats.

And I'm certainly not worried about some butthurt Miami fan throwing fists because he can't handle being told that he's wrong.

You know absolutely nothing about me.

Now I feel better. Its crazy 3 out of the 4 star players from the movie are dead

Well there goes the season. Anyone saying different is just coping.
I’ve seen this offense without Toney and it is not very good.
Add in this crappy pass defense and it’s a wrap.
Hopefully we get a decent QB and make a run next year.
The season ? I agree we might be cooked against ND with the injury happening 2 days b4 the game but we should be able to vanquish ACC teams without Toney with the amount of talent we still have. Yall forgetting Mensah & Barkate already won the ACC on a team with nowhere near the talent we have

This team BETTER play inspired football for Uno! There is nothing worse than not having your brother out there for the biggest game of the year !
ND will come out hot with what they have riding on this game … survive their first wave of momentum by keeping it a one possession game and we should be fine.

This thread is absolute PROOF POSITIVE that we have some of the softest, ****iest crybaby fans on the planet.

And, hey, it's not everybody, but we've got a very loud, very ****y 10% of our fanbase who will run around crying like ******* every time we have to face a bit of adversity. One minute they'll lie to you by saying "Yeah, I trust Mario now that he took us to the finals and signed all those blue chips", but the minute our team STRUGGLES to win a game (but still wins anyhow), they will go OFF, telling you how this player or this unit is the worst they've ever seen at Miami.

Look, I think the world of Malachi. I would never say that anyone can "replace" him. He is (and/or will soon be, statistically) the greatest WR who has ever played at Miami. But if you think that Miami can't eke out a few wins against multi-loss Duke, VaTech, and BC teams without the greatest ever WR at UM, then maybe you need your head and your expectations examined.

I know that this will come as a shock to some porsters, but Miami has managed to win 5 national championships before Malachi Toney was ever Immaculately Conceived in his mother's virgin womb. And it is highly likely that Miami will win more national championships after Malachi Toney ascends into heaven or the NFL, whichever comes first. So what that entails is the REST OF THE TEAM performing up to their highest standards to do everything they can to replace the statistical production of Malachi Toney, even if they cannot reproduce his actual physical and spiritual presence.

If need be, we should start calling out and NAMING the most pusillanimous porsters who are claiming that our season is over, all hope is lost, and that we are nothing without our best player. It has become tiresome and infuriating. It was bad enough when the accurately named Mope Squad was spreading its verbal diarrhea when the Hurricanes were less successful, so now they find isolated incidents in which they can re-exert their ****iest tendencies.

**** it. We've got games to win and rings to earn. May God, in all his infinite wisdom, heal Malachi Toney's ankle in much the same way that Jesus Christ healed the blind and cured the lepers.

Peace be with you all, except for the mopey ******* who try to ruin this board EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Mods pin this post!

Can’t wait for the oopty oop

I know ND will be a bigger challenge than UNC, but UNC’s defense isn’t terrible and:

9 plays 75 yards, TD — Mali wasn’t targeted once
8 plays, 67 yards, FG - 1 target for Mali, 0 catches
8 plays 80 yards, TD - Mali had 0 catches (1 run for 11)
6 plays 37 yards, TD - Mali had 1 catch, a 9 yard TD

So it’s not like this team is incapable of scoring points unless he scores them. Nobody is saying the offense is as good, that’s absurd. But we scored 24 points on UNC and in those 4 scoring drives, Mali caught 1 pass and had 1 run.

We can still score points on these dudes. If I’m Ash, I’m loading the box and making Mensah beat me without Mali. And if I’m Dawson, I’m looking at that and smiling. Get the backs involved in the throw game. Maybe this is a Pringle game where we can get him on linebackers. Get Lofton more involved on misdirection and get him slipped into the flats. Put Spafford and Jacobs on the field at the same time and run some verticals and see if they can run by somebody. We got plenty of playmakers and an experienced, poised, accurate QB who can get them the ball.

Can we please stop with this ****. WHY is this relevant? Our god**** defense NEEDS to play harder in practices and games. And if this was such a risk, the coaches could have put a red jersey on Malachi.

STOP BLAMING THE DEFENSE. They were doing what they are supposed to be doing in practice. Preventing big plays.
Huh? What’d I say? Not sure where I said I was blaming anyone. Injuries are part of the game. It happens. Unfortunately for us, it happened to one of our best players. Next man up. GO CANES!
