Supposedly

It’s worth a **** because, who do you trust is working the back channels on behalf of the school right now?

Even if both Manny and Blake were fired in early December that just gets us to even with the several schools that have already fired their football coaches and likely have an AD in place conducting their coaching search weeks before Miami
Blake is not surviving the end of this week most likely.

Still can't believe how excited I was for so long for this season to get this garbage... Just infuriating with all this waiting and lack of urgency now ...

Don't know if already stated as i'm not gonna read the whole thread but this is the same Manny that wrote an article two weeks ago about how Miami was "ready to invest in football's long term future - and that includes retaining Manny"? That guys is a hack. He makes the other local writers look good.

Let's see who gets this one. It's a great film, btw.

You guys know what the kick to the nuts is about all this, the school is gonna wait till early December to save a measley $2mm on Manny’s buyout meanwhile at least 6 P5 programs have already declared they are out hunting for a new HC

I have a sneaking suspicion this is gonna drag on like FSU and Tenn and we will be on options E and F and not have a new HC until mid to late January
Please don’t say that! JC! I’m scared to death

Somebody please get this worthless **** out of my face. In his post game presser someone asked Diaz if he thought about letting FSU score and Diaz says that it was a discussion he had with the staff. A discussion? Diaz then goes on to say that it was a weird situation and that FSU had an urgency to score so that factored into his decision. They had an urgency to score? Factor in his decision? I'm telling you this dude is literally clueless. How can a football coach at this level be so completely lacking in the fundamental understanding of the game he coaches?

Obviously I wasn't done venting about the most idiotic coaching decision of all time.
Question to Diaz should’ve been: given the percentages are likely well over 90% chance an offense is likely to score at the one yard line with four downs and given the defense, that you are responsible for even before becoming the head coach, is ranked in the bottom for all of the relevant statistics why did you not let them score?

And what information or metrics did you rely on that you ultimately concluded that you would go all in on trying to stop them?

It's not hard to go to his agent and say he's getting fired. We'll wait until his contractual buyout goes down on 1/1 or you can take an additional $250k and do it now - but we're not paying the full buyout. He's not coaching another game here. They're not dragging it out just to save money. The issue is there is no backbone and no leadership to get things done.

However, it's also signaling a change in AD is coming. Just complicates this thing even more than it should.
I agree with this approach personally. It doesn't hurt Miami and it clears the air for some kids that are stuck in limbo.

Exactly. He’s supposedly a numbers guy. Fine. He should know what the numbers tell you on tds from the six inch line with 4 shots. And he should be asked his thinking. As in, what were you thinking? But that isnt happening.

That didn't really bother me. He had already made up his mind it was goal line stand instead of get your offense back out there to win it or tie it with a FG.

Had he waited 10 seconds to call that timeout, then let them score and put the offense back out there.. I would have been really ****ed. He just made the wrong decision.

The 4th and 14 and our players not knowing depth and covering the sticks and basic zone defense was the real mistake though.

Agreed with the last part. You know the team is young in the back 7 and there were already mistakes. Nothing wrong with calling a timeout there to calm everyone down and make sure they know what they are doing.
