Supposedly

You guys know what the kick to the nuts is about all this, the school is gonna wait till early December to save a measley $2mm on Manny’s buyout meanwhile at least 6 P5 programs have already declared they are out hunting for a new HC

I have a sneaking suspicion this is gonna drag on like FSU and Tenn and we will be on options E and F and not have a new HC until mid to late January

I have zero issues with Manny not getting fired right now. NONE. I dont see the relevance and saving the money is fine.

I DO have an issue with Blake still being here.

You can hunt for the next coach while Manny is still employed. Hard to hunt for a coach when you dont have an AD in place.

If waiting until December means we can allocate an additional 2million towards the new staff and recruiting then I'm all for it. Think bigger picture.

We need to get rid of Blake James first before getting rid of Manny. James shouldn't be apart of the hiring process for the next coach at all!

Another thing to be aware of is UM will put out feelers through back channels letting agents know the position will be open. Coaches that are interested in UM will give us a chance and get an interview. We aren't competing with LSU and USC for coaches, we'll lose that battle 99 out of 100 times. We might miss out on the cream of the crop because the LSU's of the world will always outbid us and be more attractive to potential HCs due to the level of resources there.

It's not hard to go to his agent and say he's getting fired. We'll wait until his contractual buyout goes down on 1/1 or you can take an additional $250k and do it now - but we're not paying the full buyout. He's not coaching another game here. They're not dragging it out just to save money. The issue is there is no backbone and no leadership to get things done.

However, it's also signaling a change in AD is coming. Just complicates this thing even more than it should.

Let's see who gets this one. It's a great film, btw.

And that matters on November 15th exactly how? USC and LSU have hired who? LSU fired Ed O. and they are on a 3 game losing streak. USC is now 4-5. Two weeks will make absolutely no difference and it will have zero impact to early signing period. It's all agent discussions anyway at this point. No coach worth a **** is available for an interview until the first week in December anyway.

Smartest man in the room mentality strikes again. Pull all faith into HIS defense - when it's ranked in the 100s and not the offense that has actually carried the team to almost save him the job - and that mentality ended it for him. He bet on himself as the DC, doubled down electing to put the game on his defense, and it's time to reap what you sow.

Allowing them to score and holding 2 timeouts to give your offense a chance at least shows he thinks ahead (similar to Aranda kicking a FG thinking about the tie-breaker in the Big 12 championship). Might not have worked.. actually most likely wouldn't have worked but it was the better play.

50 seconds and 2 timeouts and needing to gain about 40 yards to kick a FG if you start the drive at the 25 or stop someone, averaging over 5 YPC on the season, at the goal line 4 times in a row from gaining about 1 foot.

It was just a conceited decision.
And if he had made the decision to put the game in the hands of the defense (i.e., don't let FSU score), then why was he calling timeouts? He's not HC material.

If asked by our world class media he would say he was trying to get it both ways. First, to see if FSU got a penalty and was backed up where we could try to stop them. Or, perhaps they might fumble. If they score we can still try to get a fluke TD. Dumb in my eyes, but still there is more than just panic. The execution was a joke. He wasted 12 seconds after the review before calling TO. He wasted 6 seconds after the first stop.

In addition, watch the last play. After the completion, the entire Miami sideline, including coaches were motioning for TVD to spike the ball. But, there were only 2 seconds on the clock-that was held very supportively by the refs until we lined up. TVD [did he know about the rule?] started to drop back to throw the hail Mary. Then followed instructions and spiked it . Of course, Memphis Mike and the officials knew the rule too. Fire Manny and let him be a DC at some middle to bottom level non-P5 team.

fire the AD, find a new AD, then fire the HC. let the new AD deal with the search.

That didn't really bother me. He had already made up his mind it was goal line stand instead of get your offense back out there to win it or tie it with a FG.

Had he waited 10 seconds to call that timeout, then let them score and put the offense back out there.. I would have been really ****ed. He just made the wrong decision.

The 4th and 14 and our players not knowing depth and covering the sticks and basic zone defense was the real mistake though.
couch man. idk what he was doing there

Somebody please get this worthless **** out of my face. In his post game presser someone asked Diaz if he thought about letting FSU score and Diaz says that it was a discussion he had with the staff. A discussion? Diaz then goes on to say that it was a weird situation and that FSU had an urgency to score so that factored into his decision. They had an urgency to score? Factor in his decision? I'm telling you this dude is literally clueless. How can a football coach at this level be so completely lacking in the fundamental understanding of the game he coaches?

Obviously I wasn't done venting about the most idiotic coaching decision of all time.
Like what does he mean?? Them being urgent helped us in that situation genius. LET THEM

We know he's gone... The question is will it be before or after the season? And yes, with 2 games left, it'll be after.

It’s worth a **** because, who do you trust is working the back channels on behalf of the school right now?

Even if both Manny and Blake were fired in early December that just gets us to even with the several schools that have already fired their football coaches and likely have an AD in place conducting their coaching search weeks before Miami
