Super Regional @ Louisville -- Schedule and Discussion

seeing several ACC teams get in over the SEC was great, especially with some big SEC names going down... I know the answer (f#ck the ACC, it's trash), but in a sport like baseball, where scholarships are hard to come by, wouldn't it be smart of a conference that want's to dominate the sport sponsor 2-3 scholarships per ACC team, to help build the talent and get more super/omaha bids??? 2-3 more full rides might seem small, but how different would this team be with 1 more stud starter, and 2 more great bats.. or visa versa with pitching to hitting spots??

No matter what happens this weekend, this has to be the jumping off point to getting the baseball program back where it needs to be. The last decade plus have mostly been an embarrassment for a major program located in South Florida. Hopefully JD and the people in charge of baseball know how to take advantage this momentum.
And hopefully gives recruiting a jolt - we need kids who can hit and play defense (seems simple right for D1?) versus Torres and Peralta who are all glove no hit.

Ciscar does a good job of holding runners, but Tanner's throws will need to be a lot better than they were the last few weeks of the season.
Just can't let those 3 guys on really. Doesn't look like anyone is throwing them out when they run 108 out of 118 between those 3 guys.

If they run, gotta hold them and leave them on base. Focus on pitching and don't let the runner make you throw a bad pitch because those guys aren't getting thrown out anyway.

Gotta love how crazy college sports is. This Canes team is one of the least likely, if not THE least likely, squad in the last several years with any postseason hopes. Weren’t even on the postseason radar a couple months ago. Now, 2 wins from Omaha.

The mix of being a Miami sports fan and how awesome baseball is, is on full display right now.

We suffer for years. Yet still find any glimmer in every season. Then the year where a lot of the biggest baseball fans are even pessimists go from seeing a horrific 20 win team potentially, then a hot streak that gets us in the post season, only to have to hold our breathes a bit with a late season bomb. Then we get in with a very very favorable Region the top seed gets upset and the team we are matched up with for supers is another unranked team giving us even more hope about a potential Omaha run.

I mean the baseball gods have to be looking out for this program a little this year. Just need 1 more big weekend from Cuvet and 2 solid starts.

I'm giving the ball to Lumpkin over DeRias in a decisive game 3.

Something to be said for the Lumpkin maturity being a Grad transfer student, being able to handle the moment, versus a true Frosh whom it seemed like the moment was too big for him.

Incorrect. 4 series start Friday, the other 4 start Saturday. It's the Omaha bracket, essentially the left side is Friday to Sunday series, the right side is Saturday to Monday series, and the left side in Omaha will start one day before the right side.

Yes. On our side of the bracket. Meaning the dates were set in advance, and were not reset based on whether we played on Monday. That was our fault.

Of the 6 teams that won on Monday, 3 are in the Friday-Sunday grouping, 3 are in the Saturday-Monday grouping.

We shouldn't have given up 9 runs in the first inning on Sunday.
