I’m sure there’s a few on here that would cry if I started the listNow serious roster talk…who do we get rid of to make room for real ball players?
I wonder if a school like Miami could have hired someone else who didn’t need to learn these things after 30 years. My hope is that each year JD improves on his decisions and feel for the games. Just learn and grow. He seems to be a leader they want to play for, so that's step one.
Next two steps are review and overhaul the portal process.
Then learn and grow your "feel" for the games. Pitchers needed to be pulled a batter too soon rather than too late in a game like this. Defenders needed to be in most likely to prevent a single run positions, rather than most likely to prevent big inning spots. Renzo needed to be pinch hit for in a huge leverage spot.
Easy to say now. No doubt about it. That's why managing is tough. The people complaining have the actual results after the fact and you don't. But that's the job and the expectation is that you'll get these things right more often than not.
Just learn and grow, JD. Just learn and grow.
Peralta, Fernandez, who else?I’m sure there’s a few on here that would cry if I started the list
But it would probably begin with the expensive guys that don’t do anything - Lazaro Collera positioned firmly at the top. If we want to give him 1 more chance, at a cheaper price, go ahead I guess.
How about a realistic listI’m sure there’s a few on here that would cry if I started the list

I like Fernandez. I had high expectations and want to see him deliver on his potential.Peralta, Fernandez, who else?
Peralta sucked at the end of the year, Fernandez sucked pretty much every time he got out there. Hudson and Renzo are d2 caliber players. Embarrassing to have Renzo as your first baseman compared to the two beasts we just played against in southern miss and Louisville…I like Fernandez. I had high expectations and want to see him deliver on his potential.
Peralta, idk. Hard to pass off a young guy that played so much and was good at one point. Sucked late so tough call
I’ll add Hudson and Renzo. Puig seems like the 3rd option of the 3 freshman catchers but he wasn’t traditionally a catcher. So idk there but he seems like the odd man out
Please tell me this is an exaggeration. Did he not watch Miami's QB last year?Yes. That is what I was referring to, just in a nice way.
You said it all year. Whether I thought you were nuts for saying it or not. You were ultimately right. And That is even more impressive because I am convinced this team is filled with non acc caliber players and most are d2 level.Regardless of how you feel, this was a special group of men I had the honor of sharing the field with and the pleasure of being able to cover all year. The standard for UM has been and always will be Omaha. These guys gave it their all and some to follow through on that standard despite no one expecting them to succeed whatsoever. The character of this team is undeniable and fought well beyond their means.
As always, Go Canes!

Most teams in supers have 2-4 guys over .300 in the bottom 5 of the order. We have 3 over .250 from 4-9 (not counting D Will)
Edit: I realize this was not in direct response to your statement, but more a brain-numbed stream of conscious belch that became vomit in the text box.
What did the staff do this year that made a difference? The only major change I can think of is the rotation. And they waited too long to realize they were the wrong guys. On a game to game basis they made winning harder.sorry guys…college sports are a business now more than ever. I’m sure the staff are all great guys. But we aren’t ina who is the nicest loving coach contest. You’ve earned another year. Get back to supers and show development and roster improvement.
Ville will be done quick in Omaha
