Sun Life Renovations Begin

What a crazy world we live in where 350 million (I'm sure that number will be much higher when it's completed) is dropped into a stadium that wasn't structurally unsound, but basically not pretty enough.

The amount of money spent on these types of things could go a long way to improving areas of society with far reaching impact. Sport is great and all, but man are our priorities out of whack.

but seriously I'm glad they are making these renovations, sun life absolutely sucks ***. I would rather play our games at traz powell. ****, why don't we just blow up everything around traz and build a shared stadium with the HS community

Im not sure how they will deal with the corners. The plans are complete for sure but there are so many variations about the corners and the corners of the upper deck. As you can see below.

This one shows only a few rows removed from the upper corner, teal seats. Not sure if those are grey seats near the screen or no seats. I think they should remove the seats..

This one seems to align with the seat color in this thread and that the sidelines are extended creating strange corners.. What you can see is that the closest you can get to the field is not a strait line down the sideline. More room is required in the middle with teams and trainers are. So with the strait rows it appears Miami is proposing to add two sections per sideline where you can get closer at the ground level. It is a feild level "bar" of sorts... and it will look foolish.

This one shows the light seats (mistake). But it seems to show a seamless bowl at the corners..(dont think that will happen) and it shows a lot more rows removed in the upper corners.

This shows the corners better. It seems some seats are removed in the lower bowl and the team entrance will be from there. Also looks like the may have a standing area or something with high tops.

couldn't see the pic. could you try again? thx

I am very curious to see how they handle this part of it. Although the other pics you posted above were from the "original" announcement of the design, which i think has changed. I hope so, b/c as you note it creates some very odd corners. In addition, only one of the sidelines in that original set of drawings moved up, the other one stayed in place. I'm hoping that has changed

So row 1 will be 65 feet from the field?

Anyone know how this compares to other stadiums? I'm having trouble finding that info. Curious to see how it compares to a place like Okie St/LSU.

This whole stadium redesign is dumb, the canopy isn't going to be all great when it rains or when it's sunny. Some people will get wet and whoever sits in the north side I believe (correct me if i'm wrong) will get the sun on their face. also 24 feet isn't much of a difference.

When the canopy goes up whats this do for the so florida heat advantage? Are teams gonna be nice and cool under that glass canopy?
