Summarizing our ACC needs

My guess is this is going to be the last year the committee takes the 5 conference champions. They’ll start doing the 12 best teams, which is just going to be an SEC/b10 show

im fine with that.

at the end of the day, they pick their 7 at large from like the first month of the year and wait for the teams to play it out so they can justify it. they'll twist themselves into knots to justify it (aka the miami ND h2h reasoning).

I do think we get in over byu Utah at the end if we win out because they dont want momtok and a bunch of weirdos over Miami which has a better shot of actually winning a playoff game.

We’ll definitely jump Utah on Tuesday, and will likely jump BYU when it’s all set and done. I personally think the committee made it clear, they aren’t putting us in over ND. Our only hope is the miracle scenario that gets us into the ACC championship game, or Bama loses to Auburn. LSU losing to Oklahoma would also be huge

We caught a break when Stanford beat Cal.
If Cal won, we would have needed Duke to lose next weekend.

I had Stanford plugged in as an L before the weekend.
Because of Stanford's, win it doesn't matter if Duke wins or losses this weekend,
as long as NC St. beats UNC.

Better chances there, so I'd call the Stanford/Cal result a break for sure.

There are 32 possibilities with the remaining 5 ACC games. 16 with Virginia winning and 16 with Va Tech winning.

If Virginia wins:
Cal must beat SMU
Wake Forest must beat Duke
NC State must beat North Carolina
Syracuse vs. BC doesn't matter

If Virginia Tech wins:
Then we advance in 12 of 16 scenaros.
Interestingly, the game that matters most would be NC State over UNC. If VT and NC State both win, we are in.
