Summarizing our ACC needs

IDGAF about the ACCCG any more. Taint didn't play in the BiG conference championship and won it all. That's what matter.

We're 13th in the CFP rankings and need to get to at least 11th to be confident we'll make the playoffs. That should happen if we have dominant wins against VT and Pitt.
No you have to get to 10. Period.

11/12 will be auto bids for acc champ and g5 champ

Exactly. The schedule is watered down and teams that don’t belong end up there. See Virginia and Duke. Miami would curb stomp both those teams into oblivion if we played.
Miami aside, conferences should have 2 conference championship play-in games at the end of the year between the top 4 teams in the conference.
This gives a better shot for CG game reps to be decided on the field.
Chances are this will be the second year in a row where we haven't played the ACCCG reps.

This is my favorite canes team in a long time. Our defense is so fun to watch. Our offense can be exciting too.

It’s so fcking annoying that we likely won’t be playing for the ACC title again even though we once again are the most talented team in the conference
This the best canes team in 20 years. Would be a shame if we finish 10-2 and don’t even get a chance at anything.

I understand how math and probability works. My point is there shouldn’t be 512 possible combinations of how a conference can be decided with 2 weeks to play. The reason there are is because it’s one big blob of 17 teams, which is ridiculous.

There aren’t 512 different outcomes.

What he’s saying is there are 9 games, for each game there are two outcomes (first team wins or second team wins)

2^9 =512.

And it’s not technically correct because teams can also tie, so really there are a lot more possibilities.

Anyway point is that many of those 512 scenarios end up with exactly the same teams making it, the 512 is just the number of ways teams can win/lose

all this because of of a few 4th and 1s that Mario couldn't get against an undersized SMU DL.....

Update after the NC State win:

There are 146 paths to the ACCCG.
100 of those require Virginia Tech to beat Virginia. 46 require Virginia to beat Virginia Tech.

Of those 46 Virginia paths, 38 require Louisville to beat SMU today. So if SMU wins today, we need VT to upset Virginia or else the possibilities become really slim.

This is my favorite time a year, without a doubt. American Thanksgiving is here, Christmas next month and Miami looking for paths to the ACC championship game.

Stop posting this stuff Miami isn’t going to the ACC championship. Why do ppl keep bringing it up and starting new threads?

It’s over. The only way into the playoffs is an at-large bid. That’s all that matters

Update: if Cal beats Stanford tonight, then our Virginia paths are eliminated. Virginia Tech would be a must.
