It's the same people who thought Lashlee was basically the one thing that would fix everything.
I'll also say that Lashlee is definitely a step in the right direction

While it’s true Fickell went 6-7 his one year as HC at OSU, he was a one-year interim on a team that suddenly lost their HC and a number of starters to the TattooGate scandal (or whatever it was called), including a returning all-conference QB. Six losses, including four in a row to end the season, were all by a TD or less.

Besides, OSU knew they had Meyer starting the next season. That’s why Fickell had a one-year contract as HC and returned as co-DC.

He’s done a great job at Cincinnati. No argument there.

That said, I’m not advocating for him quite yet.

This; and all of this. Context is so important. That OSU team was a mess; and he got one yr as an interim. He started 4-8 at Cincy as well, but he’s continually got better as a coach, taking Cincy to heights they’ve never been.

I see a lot of G5 coaches who win double digits do well, and we some who don’t. It is a bit of a crap shoot

He may be the goods but P5 is a different level.

He was such a terrible coach Urban Meyer kept him on the staff. Neutral field, you think Manuela beats Fickell?

You're a Marcus Freeman Fan as well? I shouldn't be surprised lol. I would love to have Freeman as our DC. The guy has done great work at Cincinnati. I love his style.

LOL....you’re better than this. Taking Cincy to heights they’ve never been hahahhs. Come on man. Brian Kelly and Butch Jones both had undefeated seasons and NY6 bowl games with Cincy.

It was actually a brokered deal. They knew they were going to get Neyer and needed a holdover. I believe the admin and AD said Urban had to keep Luke in staff that first year. How long did he last after that brokered first year?
