Stuff like this is why the NFL is ***aloon city.

sports is the only ******* place where the common folks stick up for "management" or whoever is in charge over the players. The guy should've gotten in day 1. He doesn't feel like going. Who gives a flying ****.

I used to scream this all the time especially when players are holding for a better contract, i never understood why people would take the corporation's side.
I go deeper, sports is the only arena where it seems socialism (salary cap) is acceptable. Imagine if TPTB decided to place salary caps on free market, we'd lose our minds.

If Ray Lewis was getting jerked around by the HOF committee and he ended up skipping the ceremony and giving a speech at Miami. We would all be ecstatic.

True we would support Ray more than TO, but in addition to one being a Cane and the other not...

Ray Lewis was always a great teammate and handled himself with class. TO blamed every single team failing on somebody besides himself. Ray Lewis takes ownership of his mistakes, TO not so much.

I fail to see the comparison.

Both sides are being petty.

Onion Skin Owens has always been a needy b*tch full of female tendencies...he was never a real G like Marvin Harrison who let his play do the talking and later on his pistol/Louisville Slugger skillz.

I always felt he handled it poorly, but in his defense, McNabb and Romo were trash.

Petty little btiches acing like jilted women.

Hall of Fame executive director: Terrell Owens won't be announced at ceremony

Agreed and it makes T.O's point even more because them folks never wanted him in anyway.

both sides are being petty but the HOF committee disgraced the process by making a guy wait multiple times that was a clear first ballot hall of famer, they allowed personal feelings to influence their vote instead of his play on the field. if anybody should've had to wait it should've been moss since he admitted he took plays off and played hard when he wanted to which is the ultimate sin against teammates, as big of an ******* T.O. was he put it all on the line every time he played i respect that.

I fail to see how something he did a decade ago has anything to do with his actions yesterday. You may not like TO as a person, but the comparison is valid. 2 players that where snubbed of being a first ballot hall of famer. Both players then choose to skip the ceremony and instead perform a speech at their Alma mater. Regardless of your opinion on the guy both scenarios are identical, that is why there is a comparison. Regardless, I always think it is a great thing for a famous graduate to come back and speak to the students.

I’m interested to see if TO has the ability to rip apart the hof locker room. This could be his toughest challenge

I’ve never seen a player with the on the field acumen be so shunned without some accusation of rule violation.

Pete Rose bet on the game while he was a player and a manager. Lifetime ban seems a little excessive to me, but understandable.

Bonds and McGwier used PEDs during a period when it wasn’t against the rules, so what?

What, really did TO do? Refuse to agree that McNabb and Romo were great?

Can't forget the fact that he also liked to dance a bit in the end zone. That alone should warrant a lifetime ban. Children watch the game. We can't allow them to see showboating.

Well, we agree on that.

I get your comparison, but what do you want? Football is a team game and coaches, players, and the league prize being a good teammate. And TO wasn't. That's not my opinion, that's what he's said over and over. After every loss he threw a coach or teammate under the bus, and that's just being a douche. What kind of person always points out what others could have done but never wonders what they could have done? And he never wondered what he could have done better because he thinks everything he does is amazing. And if it isn't that's because somebody else messed up.

I object to the comparison because Ray never put himself first, it was always about the team and I think that's admirable. TO never put the team first, everything was always about how great he was or how his team had let him down.

I'm treating them differently because of how they act. You choose to ignore that, and that's fair. It's just not how I see it.

We don't have to use Ray as an example. I just chose him because he was the first Cane to come to my mind. If any Hurricane said **** the committee I am going to give a speech to UM students in stead we would be praising the guy. I think TO deserves to be in the HOF. Not only was a beast of a WR, but he blocked better then most TEs. That, however, is neither here nor there. Regardless of him desreving to be in the HOF or not I am saying that if a Cane did the same thing we would be happy, we are just calling TO a primadonna due to the fact that we don't like him as a person. Not because his actions where wrong.

Basically what I am saying is if the title read " After *insert Miami player* was disrespected by the HOF committee he decided to skip the ceremony and instead give a speech to UM Seniors" the responses in the thread would be completely different.

Well of course. I'm a total homer, and I don't pretend to be otherwise. I don't give a **** about no team but this :neonu:

If a Cane acted like TO throughout their career I would still think they were a dck. Sure, I'd enjoy their on-field performances because they were Canes, but I'd also dislike them personally (as much as that applies to somebody you don't actually know).

It's not that he chose to go somewhere else that I don't like, it's that he's spent his life letting others know he thinks he's better than them. Aaron Rogers and Tom Brady might be better than other QBs, but they don't go around bragging about it. They don't blame the rest of the team when they lose. They understand that while the D could have been better, they could have been better too.

I've said this same thing several times and it doesn't seem to sway you. Agree to disagree I guess.

No I figured out you don't like him after your first statement. The original post was about TO acting like a primadona. I responded with the fact that we would be supportive if he was a Cane. You then came out of left field and started talking about your personal disdain for TO. That has nothing to do with this particular instance. There is nothing to agree or disagree upon.

No, "we" wouldn't. He's an *****, and where he went to school wouldn't change that or how I feel about it.

I for one am grateful his whiny *** didn't go to Miami.

So you are saying that if a Miami Hurricane player was screwed by the HOF committee two times then told the committee he is going to skip the ceremony and instead speak at a UM event. You would be upset and calling him a whiny *****?
