Miami Hurricanes strength and conditioning coach Aaron Feld has officially left the Miami program, which means we won't see his Handlebar mustache anymore, unfortunately.



Feld released a statement on Instagram:

"Thank you to the University of Miami and the Hurricane Football program for a great run. I have nothing but love and respect for this football team. This was a tough decision to have to make, but ultimately the choice was clear. At the end of the day, my wife and kids deserve more from me than my circumstances allowed, so the only course of action was to change my circumstances. Failing as a husband and a father will never be an option.

"Developing a world-class performance team at The U will always be a highlight of my career, and I am leaving the Canes football program in extremely capable hands. I have no doubt they will continue to lead the profession and have great success

"To the players: I love you guys. Serving you every day has made me a better husband, father, and coach. For that, I will never be able to thank you enough. Remember, no individual is more important than The Team. Stick together and finish what you started. Who is the team?... You are!", Feld wrote on his Instagram.

Feld joined Mario when he was first named as head coach at Miami at the end of the 2021-22 season, and he has also worked alongside Mario during their time at Oregon. Now, as they part ways, we wish Feld all the best. He was hired by Cristobal at Oregon in 2018 after previously serving as the assistant director of strength and conditioning for football at Georgia.

Got a guy from my high school that is 4 years older than me and he starts working as an assistant strength coach at Auburn in a few weeks. He is the smartest guy I've ever met. Trains olympic athletes at this facility right now as well as worlds strongest man competitors.

He has something like 2 gold medals, 4 silver, and 10 plus bronze metals that the people he trains have accounted for while working under him.

Small world. Been using fitomics for labs for a year now. Great service for someone like my self wanting to dial things in every few months

Who is saying it’s such an issue? lol. I view it as a C to B- hire. What’s the issue with me saying that? Do you have some evidence that he should be viewed as an A hire? Like what is even talks argument against me saying it’s a lackluster hire? That it could be a good hire? Okay it could also be a bad one. What would make you more confident he was a good hire is if he had proven it before, which he hasn’t. So what I’m saying is perfectly valid. And again It’s not like I said dude was trash, I said it was a lackluster hire

By no means am I saying it’s a bad hire. It’s too risky to hire a new guy right now when it’s the most important time for a S&C coach so I get making him the head guy. However, just because the kids endorse him doesn’t mean it’s a good hire . Kids usually like “ comfort” and I hope that’s not the reason. It should be a love/hate type of relationship to be honest lol

I mean in this situation the hire is "the test", so not seeing your point. Are you operating like nobody judges any other coaching hire when they are made? By your logic, Nobody is allowed to judge Mario since he's still going to be here another 3-5+ years, so how can he be judged at just the beginning of the test... By your logic nobody should ever judge a recruiting or portal class on NSD, they must wait 4 years until all those guys leave before anyone should ever comment on it lol.

Lets just be real. Yes what ACTUALLY matters will be how he actually performs in this role. Obviously.... Doesn't mean you can't comment on it in the process...

Do i believe that Ervin Young is better than Feld? Yes, yes I do. Do I believe that switch is the reason why we went as far as we did? No, no I don’t.

We went 10-2 in the last two regular seasons. We were much more dominant this last year in those ten wins; however, i would contribute that to a number of factors, including improved physicality: Hetherman, K Scott and J thomas, high-end talent continuity, culture solidifying, improvement from within, Malachi Toney and Bryce Fitzgerald, better health, other personnel shifts, and dozens of other factors.

Most importantly to remember, Ervin Young was here in 2022 and 2023. He only was away for 1 season at Tennessee. And he didn’t rejoin Miami until June of ‘25; Feld led the bulk of the offseason training. So we can’t discredit what Feld did here; even for the 2025 season.

Furthermore, we have his former Miss State defensive lineman teammate, Rodney Prince, who worked as an assistant with Feld at UGA prior to Feld becoming the guy at Oregon. Feld brought him from UGA to MIA.

A Birmingham, Ala., native, Prince was a three-year letterman as a defensive lineman at Mississippi State, where he played alongside Feld.

“Coach Prince is a phenomenal human being. He is a guy who has got the experience, and someone who is going to be a phenomenal head strength coach one day,” Feld said. “He is really ready for a bigger role. I’m going to lean on him as much as possible.”

Victor Ishmael, Kyle Bellamy & others have all been here through multiple regime changes. Eric Renaghan, Fabian Moncayo, Peter Galasso, Houston Owens, & the assistant athletic trainers have all been here throughout Mario’s tenure.

All our S&C staff have worked under guys at different schools without Feld on staff + have their own masters degrees and certifications, however; there was a lotta overlap that suggests a continuation of sorts.

For example, Rodney Prince worked under UGA S&C coach Scott Sinclair at Marshall without Feld there; however, both were at UGA together under SS.

Before working at Georgia, Feld was the head strength coach at the University of North Alabama and a volunteer strength coach at the University of Alabama, where he worked with Cristobal.

We got Nick Tulloch from Maryland when Feld left; yet, Nick worked with Feld & Prince at UGA under SS.
