Not like is has during golden's tenure. Perfect example is unc. They almost beat Lsu minus 18 players. You think this years unc teams can compete with a top s&c team? Please. Worng. golden is the worse coach in modern miami history. Losing to 2-10 Maryland ( Maryland had one win vs div 1 schools that year) and a 3-8 handicapped bc team are just as bad as that final orange bowl loss prolly worse.

It's not hard to see anything. It is when you type bs like he tanked the 09 and 10 classes. Meanwhile Golden has upwards of 40 guys from his clases who aren't here so that cancels that out. Nix is better than d'onfofrio. Shannon had better quality wins while facing tougher schedules and teams.

Another thing...Shannon tanked in 09 and 10 recruiting wise but golden hasn't? If what you say is true then why couldn't Golden find replacements for any Shannon player? Isn't Walford from one of those tanked classes? Dorsett committed to Shannon. So did Duke.

Whose sticking up for Golden? Not me, he sucks *** and I've said he's an average recruiter at best. His classes have been underwhelming, he can't develop players, and his "diamond in the rough" were all horrible.

Doesn't change the fact that the 09 and 10 class were bad. Nix is one of the worst hires of all time (he coaches HS now).

Folks get your facts right. Shannons last two classes were 2010/2011, not 2009/2010. The 2010 class (our redshirt seniors) stank. And when Folden took over in December 2011 we had FOUR players committed and ZERO visits scheduled. That set a new record for tanking in recruiting and left Folden scrambling for what is now our senior class.

Slow down and pay attention. The year Im talking about unc went 8-5 and had a bunch of guys suspeneded. That team is better than this years unc team. Simple point. If I wanted to expound on it I would I don't need your help.

Here we go with this lame bs. The 2011 class was Golden's. he went after a bunch of guys who weren't even on Shannon's radar. There were more guys committed but they decommitted after hearing rumors of shannon getting fired. Golden didn't want guys like Jeremy Davis he wanted thomas finnie etc etc. plus shannon was taking a small class that year anyway

Don't act like Golden is the first coach in ncaa history to have to come into the recruitng game late and have to salvage a class. He isn't. Go back and look and see when certain coaches were hire. Tressel, carrol, Saban, stoops etc were all hired around the same time or in some cases later and still got the job done. stop with this bs excuse. It's for pee wee t ball coaches not big tyme col football.
 
Nites, I'll just have to agree to disagree with you. I think Randy sucks, you think differently.

We can agree that Golden sucks, you had it tagged before mostly everyone else.

Randy Shannon was absolutely awful. He had no biz being a head coach. Al Golden is also awful. Neither should have lasted more than three years here.

There is no revisionist history. As bad as shannon was golden is worse and by wide margin and had golden had to play the kinds of teams shannon did his record would be a lot worse. That's coming from an x and o stand point which a lot of you can't relate to any dam ways.

Both coaches are total disasters that have/had no business being the head coach at Miami.

People telling the truth about Shannon and how terrible he was in no way supports Golden. I guess saying that is a way for the Shannon people to deflect. Shannon was a total dumpster fire when it came to the off the field running of a major college football program. A prime example: Shannon did not step foot on the campus of Miami Central High School when he was here. Let that sink in.

As a result, USCe, UF and LSU thinks Folden is Awesome.
