Off-Topic Stock Market & Crypto Discussion

Never dumb to own Visa.
I bought a bit more visa and more AMD. It seems that while a lot of reopening plays have been run to crazy numbers in recent months, Visa as one of the more obvious ones that hasn’t. I think the lead up to the Plaid acquisition and then fall out from it being blocked have held the stock down some, but between that finally digesting, travel starting back up, international markets opening, it should have a nice run up.

I was the low buyer today. Picked off some fool's market order.

FYI the options price of 4.25 was in Canadian Dollars sorry i should've specified. Also looks like I missed something in my DD regarding newly issued options. The recent 1.2 million options were newly issued based on some type of fixed formula. Perhaps you're more familiar with this type of arrangement it's above my paygrade.

See post below and copies i pulled from the Sedar site of their most recent financial disclosure.

It appears the Stock Option Plan is not set at a fixed number, but rather is fixed at 10% of the number of issued and outstanding shares of stock. For example, when the warrants were exercised a short time ago, this enabled the company to issue additional options equal to 10% of those shares newly issued upon exercise of those warrants.

Have a general investing philosophy question for you all. So there is the old Buffett saying that the stock market is a device to transfer money from the impatient to the patient.

Taking Rocket as an example. I do think it is undervalued, but I also think that the national housing shortage is going to cut their revenues, as there are less new mortgages to start. Last year they processed through a ton of refinances which boosted the company's revenues, but that is largely worked through at this point. So now that it is on the uptick, I am trying to reconcile patience with why I initially bought into the company with new information and a developing marketplace.

How do you balance patience with new information?

Will be interesting to see what happens to the meme’s and doge etc when people actually have to go back to work, pay their rent, not get free stimmy every couple months.

when you’re getting free money at the casino, it’s easy to bet it all without any concern for losing it. Not as easy when it’s your rent money and evictions are back on the table.
We've already seen a big dip (~30%) in the sportscard "investor" market despite interest in sportscards being at an all-time high. People want to sell off their speculative crap to travel and have social lives and what not. And the impatient see others selling and start panic selling and that drives the prices down further.

Good question. You could literally write a book around it. I'm always eyeing forward looking results and ready to get out if it doesn't look good. Momentum investing is important to me and always looking at the rapidly increasing rate of change in the world today and how that may effect companies/industries.

Been holding 1,037 stocks of Clover Health (CLOV) since February 8th at $13.07. Then the combination of the short attack and the growth industry crashing in February the stock price plummeted to $6. It stayed in the $6-$8 dollar range for the past 3 months.

I learned very quickly to be dead inside and not even think about that money. I made a vow that eventually that stock would at least get back to $13, even though I knew it would probably take years, and I would not sell until then. Well the shorters got too greedy and there was a mini short squeeze the past few days.

I sold today at $20.50 for a profit of $8,000. Luck had nothing to do with it hahaha

Todays VFF shareholder meeting. Skip the first 9 minutes of roll call. Good stuff

TY. What platform would you advise to buy crypto?

Depends on what you want to buy, depends on where you live, depends if you want to use any defi or staking opportunities on the platform you choose. Many people use multiple platforms. It also spreads the risk around. A lot of the popular retail ones punish you with rough fees and spreads. I don't feel comfortable giving specific recommendations or advice as I don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong due to user error or hacks.

@Cryptical Envelopment @YUMU

DME taking a hit because well #4 is around 15 days past it's projected finish time without any official announcement. Delays are expected in this sector but investors are a little angry there hasn't been any communication as to why. Whether results are good or bad on the well DME needs to tighten up their timelines and communication as they grow. I would expect some sort of roadmap coming shortly after well 4 results.

Email from the VP this morning . @Cryptical Envelopment @YUMU

Completion dates on wells are a thing of the past. We will never give an estimated completion date again.

- Cleary a mistake, any delay sends investors into unnecessary panic and puts management in a corner.

Due to the delays with #4 we will be moving forward with a reservoir analysis on #1, 2 & 4 before drilling more wells later in the year -

- Getting the 2p reserves will give them more concrete revenue projections and open the floor for finalizing sales on those wells. But the delays are piling up. At this point I'm going to assume early goals of Q4 full production are off the table.
