still thousands of tickets for sale in upper deck end zones

I've always been a conspiracy theorist. I whole heartedly believe that the powers that be in the ACC take special aim to hold us down as best they can.

In this scenario I believe the ACC scheduled VT and ND back to back at home knowing that the majority of the traveling UM fan base, if forced to choose, would plan to attend ND and pass on VT. This move in their minds could potentially result in lackluster attendance for the most important coastal game of the year. It was their best shot to make us look like **** and if we don't cram another few thousand in the seats wearing orange and green they may succeed.

I want to attend this game very much but I cannot because I have made plans to be at the game next week and my schedule doesn't allow me to travel down back to back weekends. I hope those of you on the fence go ahead and pull the trigger.

I don’t know if it’s an agenda or pure incompetence. With Miami, in the preseason, UNC and VT were the top tier competition for the Coastal. Why schedule those games back to back? You’re deliberately setting Miami up to fail. Spread the big games out.

Last year, we played at VT on a Thursday night (in the middle of the 4 game difficult stretch) again with no bye in the previous week. Why? Arguably the biggest game in the Coastal and you schedule it for a Thursday night game giving VT the advantage? Just plain stupid or corrupted.

right now the last 15 rows behind the endzone upper deck is available. nobody wants to sit there but expect a few of them to sell prior to the game. it should be a very nice loud crowd.

Very few tickets left. Maybe 5,000. Take into consideration that it is Miami and 7 days before a game is an eternity for that city's culture...... The Florida game was at 95% capacity, with 10,000 more seats in the stadium. Hokies cannot fathom how loud this place is going to get!

Nice try. Only had to spot check one to find out that you're already wrong on this. 76,869 announced for the 2013 UiF game.

I was at that game and last year vs FSU. Those were NOT full. Maybe they sold all the tickets but many didn't show up. I can say last year vs FSU was LOUD, I couldn't hear my cousin sitting next to me. I think the loudest was Jamal Carter on the big screen talking smack at the coin toss, place went nuts! Also for that BS targeting call against him. We absolutely need all hands on deck and it will be LOUD. No excuses!!

Here's another photo from that UiF game. Looks pretty full to me sans that one upper deck section that is completely empty and probably seated one of the bands. I'm no apologist for Sun Lifeless attendance and have also been to almost every game since we moved there but sometimes our memories about butts in seats tend to trend toward the negative unfairly.

The Florida band is on the right side. Miami has yet to fill the entire stadium at SLS even for the big games. Always empty sections in the upper deck.

Okay. I guess that ONE completely empty section was accidentally not sold OR all those ticket holders just decided to be bad fans and colluded to not show up. Because if we want to show pictures as proof and dispute announced attendance figures then my pic here shows the stadium essentially "full" sans that one block of seats.

Its every game ever at Hard Rock. We may have had some announced Sell Outs but when there is clearly 5,000 seats all together empty then someone has bought a huge block and given them away or something and many of those people have not shown up.

I hope we sell out this week and we may but I would just like to see the stadium full without big empty sections.

Oh goody, more attendance threads.

If you're bringing up UM and attendance, you're either new around these parts or very, very dense.

If all our keyboard commandos attended these games and are as loud in person as they are banging away feverishly on their keyboards, we'd have the top home field advantage in the ACC.

I will do my part, you do your part, and the 5-10k empty seats don't really matter.

I don't think any one disagrees with you that the place can get loud. I think the issue is people want the city to get behind the team and sell out the stadium; it's a better look for the program.

And like it or not, it's used against UM in recruiting. Teams love to show photos of empty stadiums for Canes games, and I've heard this from several local coaches. It's a regular thing.

And it hasn't changed since the 1930s, yet, despite this glaring deficiency we have won 5 national championships to most of those schools 3, 2, 1 or 0. That's what we use against them for recruiting. We win.

I don't get why we must go over this for every, single, home, game!

Most of the City of Miami doesn't give a ihst about anything. There's about 50,000 of us that do, and we do our part. There's about 1,000 who travel in and do theirs. Then there's about 100,000 keyboard commandos who lecture us all about attendance but then watch the game on Facebook Live.

Lol Yea no excuse not to attend this game if you live in South Florida. Support your fcuking team

I was at all of those games and they were not sold out. I don't even think they were announced as sell outs. Here is a picture of the UF game you are talking about with probably 5,000 empty seats.

That was open to UM students IIRC. It filled up later in the game.

Does the stadium capacity include everyone in the club boxes, or is it just the seats in the outdoor spaces?

Instead of ing OP, why don't you buy a ticket and go!? I happened to buy two tickets yesterday for the upper stands. Don't matter where you sit just show up and support the team your a so called fan of. I did my part. You can get ticket availability down to 999
