IIRC there were others that were pursued but said NO thanks…

Just like the DC, Mario tries to force his guys (scheme) on the OC and other more credentialed coaches wasn’t going for it…

Mario cant draw up a play..so his only use is recruiting..an coaching ol yet his ol likely had 10 penalties today and typically have 3-5 pre snap penalties a game?.

On top of culture fit, It was also rumors of Kelly not taking his job serious also. So use anybody but Kelly and LSU for this example. I don’t think it’s apples to apples as it seems.

Not to take up for him because he deserves a lot of criticism but Say all you want about Mario but it’s no one accusing him of not caring. We accusing him of not adapting and being stubborn.

To be fair here, we should go no worse than 10-2 with this roster and schedule even with Mario as coach. Being 6-2 right now is just insult to injury. Nobody wants to talk how weak our schedule was once we were past that first stretch which wasn’t as tough as we thought given both UF and FSU are dumpster fires.

SMU is not a good team, nor are the teams we have left. This was the year for Mario to make the playoff and now we are on the outside looking in, nah, we are basically out and staring down the barrel of 9-3/8-4. Back to back year of squandering the season.

I picked 9-3 and honestly the only explanation for losing that many games in my head was “well because Mario will find a way”

Bravo, I was against this hire at the time and really wanted Kiffin, couldn't believe we went with this moron over him. Kiffin isn't Saban, but he would coach circles around most of the ACC.

our only hope in the near term is that he does. I think he does care enough about bringing an NC back to Miami and cares about the program. In order to that he will need to look at himself in the mirror instead of looking at all the external stuff he has tried to fix (which he has for the most part). He does have some positive qualities like work ethic, talent evaluation, and is a recruiting lunatic. Maybe someone he respects like a Saban, Johnson, or Schiano gives him some honest advice he can take to heart. But I agree it is very fixable if the man can just take an honest look at himself.

Honestly, the red flags were there about the way we didn’t close the games before FSU so I’m not sure that you’re the only one who raised red flags and I have all the respect in the world for you

I wish we could opt out of the 12 game season and opt into a 1 game season that was the national championship. Or the 12 team playoff started game one. Mario could beat any team in the country during week one, the last 2 seasons. After week 4 he is toast.
