Still ****es me off Lynch wasn't a Cane!

thats why they were so emotional, they had to deal with idiots like Golden passing on him, and they mustve been like wtf

Everyone else passed on him too. Who's to say he would have developed into a beast in the **** system Folden was running?

Everyone else passed on him too.

Everyone else didn't have him in front of their faces at a summer camp.

They saw a huge guy with wheels and a big arm, and they chose Preston Dewey and Gray Crow.
He was shopping himself vigorously, and everyone passed. Everyone including second tier programs like UCF passed.

You didn't have to see him live to see how tall he was and how strong his arm was. Fuente didn't even want him, and that was a 1 win destitute program when he took over.

The two guys they took were bums. Folden fcked that and everything else up. But it's 20/20 hindsight to act like Lynch was such an obvious take when no one wanted him. I don't remember seeing too many gurus crying for Lynch to get a scholarship when he was being recruited.

We honestly should have known that it wasn't going to work out when Gray Crow was the quarterback they wanted. At least Dewey was an all-american

I had no clue who Paxton Lynch was until he started balling for Memphis. When it comes to bashing the staff, I save my venom for mistakes like Skai Moore and Denver Kirkland that were obvious at the time.

But they still deserve criticism for missing on Lynch. He was a Wing-T quarterback on film. They got to see him throw the ball in person at multiple camps. The rest of the country outside of Florida didn't have that opportunity.

I haven't had much interaction with James Coley, but I did ask him what his secret was to evaluating QBs. He says that he always starts with tangibles. His exact words were: "Too many people get lured in by intangibles. I had intangibles. Give me all the guys with NFL tools, and I'll narrow it down from there."

Pretty simple, but you see the results. Florida guys like Blake Bortles and Paxton Lynch definitely passed the tools test out of high school.

Did any top tier programs recruit Bortles? I didn't follow recruiting then

That fat guy from up north would have ballooned Lynch up to 275 and switch him to TE anyways.

How about Isaiah MacKenzie?

Schools make mistakes all the time. STA had a kid named Ryan Crozier that we begged Syracuse to take and they wouldn't even look at him. He went to UCONN and became a freshman AA and was on the Rimington Award watch list going into his sophomore year, but couldn't play as a sophomore due to injury. Another example is Melvin Gordon. Melvin Gordon's HS coach played for Syracuse so they took a trip to Syracuse to introduce him to Doug Marrone. Marrone didn't even say hello to the kid and didn't try to recruit him until after his senior season.

Yea schools pass on players all the time. Al missed a lot of talent and in my opinion was a bad evaluator of talent from day 1. However, Lynch isn't his fault. I don't know what transpired but every team in the state could of used Lynch. He just went under the radar. It happens in this day and age. I mean Plantation High had a D-end for this recruiting class that had 20+ sacks. Kid didn't attend any camps and his coaches didn't send his recent stats to either the Herald or Sun-Sentinel. It happens.
