With an administration like this, can the football program ever be dominant again? Yes there will be a new president but if it's more of the same, then it may be time to accept that the football program will never get to where most of us want it to be.

While I don't think it is over. I think we just have to hire the right guy. The sad part is we're not that far off either. Al and RS were each able to win 9 games and they're terrible. Hire a semi-competent guy and we're winning 10-11 games and getting to the BCS (then you go from there). We had 3 terrible coaches in a row. Nebraska did the same.

But if this matters (and I know it does)...At some point the fans/alumni can either do something constructive and organized or do nothing (post on a message board).

This has been 10+ years in the making. This is just the most recent dagger.

I still believe with the right staff, playing the right scheme and actually utilizing our talent that the sleeping giant can awaken.

I am sorry, but if anyone truly feels that way no matter who the **** the coach is then GO AWAY! That is not being a ******* fan, thats being a ******* baby! "there not going to win a NC every yr I dont wanna play anymore!" **** that ****. I want a winner as much as the next guy, but I would NEVER think "Ohh we can never be great again!"

We have lost our edge as a program, we used to be the leaders, now we are the followers... But we have also seen a program like Oregon rise from obscurity, in no where ******* OREGON! and lure high quality talent there and become a perennial power house. We have seen fuggin Boise St. rise up and challenge. There has NEVER been a time where I thought we could never get back.

There is still plenty of talent in our back yard, AG has been the first in ten yrs to really attach the recruiting game down here. However he has not shown the coaching ability on the other end to get us there. If we bring in a different staff, and they are as good as it takes to win on a national level we could get there as early as next year! There is enough talent on the team right now to do that IMO

They should take half of the U off the helmets as the program has been castrated. The new logo should be a picture of some schlep lopping off the balls of the program.

We are Wake Forest.

No we are not Wake Forest, they are much better coached. We are now the team schools pick for there Home coming game. Sad we have enough good players to play with anyone if we were better coached, not saying we would beat them but we should not get blown out.

1. It's "they're"
2. Not one person has said they need to win the NC every year, every other year or even every 5 years. WINNING THE ACC ONE ******* TIME WOULD BE NICE. It would also be nice to get completely curb-stomped every time we play a decent team.
3. All those programs you listed had/have administrations that care about the success of their football programs. We clearly don't.

Until today, I only had a reasonable suspicion about the Admin's position and attitude toward the program. Now we have rock solid proof that the admin is outright undermining and cutting our program's balls off. If you love The U, our past and the history, this should give you great pause. I only feared we would be stuck in the 7-5 to 9-3 universe. Now I know it to be true.

What a ******* dope.

Have we considered that the administration might think so low of Al that they aren't throwing him any bones?
