Someone always has to have some kind of controversial point. With Tua injured, this isn't Bama's year. Had he been healthy they wouldn't have lost another game.

With that said, the #4 spot this year is a joke because no matter who gets it, they are going to lose in the playoffs anyways...

Blow out? Not a chance. Auburn and LSU are better than those two and didn’t. Baylor is like Miami two years ago. Not near as good as the upper echelon teams and Utah is losing tonight.

Then, let's suppose Miami DIDN'T play in the worst conference in the country and actually played a tough schedule. If we, as Miami fans, endured two close losses to two good teams mostly because we were missing our star, ready to be first round drafted quarterback.....we'd all be losing our God **** minds.

Strength of schedule should ABSOLUTELY be rewarded. It stops teams like UCF and Boise St back in the day who benefit from not having to handle the rigors of weekly tough competition from back dooring the easy way into the playoffs. Anyone can beat anyone on ONE WEEK. Boise did beat Oklahoma in a bowl back then....but the question is could Boise have beaten that same Oklahoma team, that same year, after having to go through a gauntlet of at least 3 or 4 other tough games? The answer is absolutely ******* **** no.

Say what you want, and God knows Stephen A is wrong a ton....but it doesn't mean he's not right here. You want the best teams in the playoffs, not the best records.

I don't think that's the point of this thread...we all know bama would obliterate us. The discussion is about them crying there way into the playoffs and fans wanting it. Bunch of cry fuqin babies if u ask me....even if they won the whole thing it's not fair like it wasn't the last time.

Nobody, except that idiot, is advocating for Bama. It’s not even close to being a possibility.

I think Bama is better than Utah and Baylor, but they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs this year.
 
We lost to Washington in 2000, beat FSU, and were shut out of the championship game.

I don't what to hear about how Bama deserves anything. They can go **** up a rope. Take care of your business.

If the Conferences were a little better constructed and more parity existed...I'd be 100% ok with that statement.

Unfortunately, that's not reality. "Winning your conference" comes with an asterisk, depending on what conference you are in. No team from the AAC, and I don't care if they go undefeated eight consecutive seasons, should EVER get into the final 4 unless changes are made to the conference make-up.

The fact that so many just flippantly assume Bama beat Utah or Baylor is the problem with college football. There is the bias just based on name alone. Could Bama win? Of course. Would they be favoured by Vegas? goddam right they would be. But guess what. Vegas isnt always right (see Miami) and Vegas just wants a line where people bet on both teams.

Anyways, I want 4 SEC teams in the playoff. Put Florida in and Auburn. Auburn beat Bama
 
Stephen Smith is an idiot. Alabama belongs nowhere near the playoffs and anyone who thinks otherwise should self-immolate. No one who cares about competition should think a team that loses twice and doesn’t even win its own division let alone conference should be anywhere near playoff consideration. Moreover, Utah would likely beat Alabama. They are clearly, clearly overrated.
