Stefan, D$ or anyone watching - what's the intel on Jaelan Phillips?

We all know he was the #1 player in the country coming out, but even when he played at UCLA, he didn't light it up like other true frosh, heavily rated DE's, so I'm curious about him.

Jaelan had to seek medical permission to play and was undergoing treatment and PT rehab, etc.

Last year, when I asked about the then rehabbing Rousseau and whether or not he was a Greentree AA, but we won't see it on the field, I got a resounding, NO! He is the real deal!!!

So, I'm curious about Jaelan, his physical condition and any signs as to whether or not he's looking to make an impact.

Thgouths? Observations?
If he stays healthy hes the real deal. Explosive as all out doors. Him and payton will be big next year.

...and Patchman is the "best at setting the edge"!!

Can't wait to see Jaelan. If he lives up to the billing, we'll have two nasty pass rushers in JP and GR15. That will be very special.
And Jafhari. Our Dl should be the strongest part of the team next year.

Don't get the Patchan hate. Should he start? No. But with Garvin leaving he'd be a useful backup next year. We are already going to be under the 85 so if he left it wouldn't open anything up next year
I dont Hate patchan but he should be a rotational guy at best next year regardless of his experience this year. You can’t justify starting patchan over Phillips the former #1 overall player in the country given how freakishly gifted that kid is and Scott’s definitely not starting over Rousseau given the season he just had.

Ok, he's a rotational guy. Wasn't he that the second half of the season? And who gives a flip about justifying starting one player over another. This endless **** is so petty. The bigger issue is who's getting snaps and playing time.

He was in the second half but not the first half which hurt us early on in those games imo

I remember that A&M game and thinking this dude looks like JJ Watt. You don't become the #1 player in the country for nothing. Freak athlete and had great technique. Hopefully he regains that because he's playing for a lot of money. Excited about him.

You're steady fall into despair about and disdain for this team has been an amazing thing to watch this year. Always get a kick out of your posts
I hate it man, bring the old liberty city el back.:monkey-serious:. need him to be positive on some posts at least lol. He turning into dwinstitles on every post but the truth hurts and you can’t really say he ain’t wrong

Patchan shouldn't sniff the field that's why there is hate because guys like rousseau and harvey have been behind him. The guy does not apply pressure and gets major playing time

Lol, learn how to spell thoughts ya nerd.

Any early indications on how strong he is in covering the flats and dropping into other zones?

This team if nothing else, has shown it will play king guys. We’ve done it every year all over the field for as long as I can remember.

How long are some of you gonna hold onto the first two games of last season. Rousseau was coming off a season ending injury and I’m pretty sure another in the fall. It’s not like he didn’t play, he just got fewer snaps early.

Plenty of real problems with these coaches and this team. This angle is tired and silly.

I'll respectfully disagree. I do think Patchan brings value, but as a backup. Our starters, assuming Phillips is who we believe he is, should be Rousseau, Nesta, Ford and Phillips. Now, THAT's an ELITE front 4, at least as a unit.

Bigger in what sense?
