Can an argument be made that the 2021 WR corp is better than the 2001 corp? (Is the 2021 WR corp is deeper?)
The difference in talent between the two teams RB & OL is where the answer to OP's riddle likely resides.
There's no Dre in this group. As good as Rambo has been, he's not that.
Maybe. Sands and Beard were very reliable possession receivers who were pretty good at YAC as well despite average foot speed. Jones provided some speed and his hands were much better by the time he was a senior. Even Geathers showed up with some nice catches that year before they moved him to RB. We also usually only went 3 wide at the most so it's not directly comparable. But I'd say overall depth was comparable with Dre as the X factor so I'd take the 2001 corp.No Shockey either.
But aside from Andre Johnson & Shockey the 2021 team's WR/TE corp seems deeper in high level talent than 2001, no?

Yea I think most QBs and WRs should be pretty **** excited about the offensive skill position room. The point may have been a bit of a stretch on my end, but I think it simply goes to my excitement about the current WR/TE corp.
Im very high on Brinson, George, Key Smith, and Restrepo. I also see a lot of development potential in Brashard Smith, Michael Redding, Arroyo and current commit Landon Ibieta (assuming he signs). The stable is DEEP at WR. (and all of this assumes that Rambo doesn't stay after this season, which could happen).
PI also. Now they penalize DBs for not turning their head. They use to be able to get away with that.Targeting and Hitting a defenseless receiver are two critical rules changes between real football and what we have today. They both favor the passing game tremendously.
Too early to compare reallyNo Shockey either.

Better?! No! Maybe in time, they can be as….. nah. **** no. Deeper? Probably yes. The 2021 bunch, has contributions from more players and the better stats… of course we throw the ball a lot more now. The offensive scheme is totally different. Can an argument be made that the 2021 WR corp is better than the 2001 corp? (Is the 2021 WR corp is deeper?)
