Stat that shocked me but is true

He had 4 ints so must have been close. But he was only part-time, which hurt him. If those awards were given out this week, now that he has 6 interceptions including a game winner, he'd hear his name called.
Yeah I agree that not being a full-time starter hurt him but his production speaks for itself…

Some of those DB’s that made it still didn’t have his int numbers…

He has a little Ed Reed in him in that he knows where to be around the ball a lot. If he can hit and be physical like he does playing centerfield then the sky is the limit.
Kid is only going to get better and better. Fitz is better than Ed was as a true freshman. Can he finish the next 2 years as strongly as Ed we will see? Safety U is back.

I thought a lot of his picks in the begining were mop up duty or just horrible throws that he took advantage of. His last few picks shut me the **** up. He is a ball hawk!!!!
I kind of felt the same way. He was obviously talented and had good instincts or he wouldn't even be in there, but some of those first int's were just some terrible throws. Still, he was putting himself in position to make the int and get a solid return.

Now, it's clear as day that he is a baller. His instincts are top notch and he diagnoses plays very quickly. Not much wasted motion. That play he made on the fake punt was amazing. I'm sure they went over scenarios in practice, so he was prepared. The fact he still made that read, diagnosed it, and defended it perfectly speaks volumes for a true freshman.

I will knock on wood, but barring Injury, he may be the best DB/Safety to ever come out Miami.

He reminds me of Travis Hunter and Ed Reed. It’s like they can see the play in their heads and anticipate it like no other.

Much as I love Fitz and his upside, Charles Pharms shouldn't be forgotten as a FR.

Gotta throw some credit to Dave Lake and Gabby who prior to the season called him out as a ballhawk who found a way to make plays and a freshman to keep an eye on.

Crazy!!! Here comes another 1 in corner of the end zone to seal the game with a jump ball with traitor Smith vs Terry Porter State.

Coming into Miami, people were a little bit nervous about his tackling. I really can’t think off the top of my head of any critical missed tackles from him. I’m sure he missed some here and there, but he’s been pretty good, especially from a Freshman

his nose for the ball reminds me of prime kevin byard with the titans. fitzgerald is faster and more athletic, but it's a similar thing where you just find yourself wondering, "how is this guy ALWAYS in the right spot?" and the answer is football IQ and instincts. sky is the limit for this kid
