In an discussion with a friend I went through and looked at our WR numbers.
1 game so far a WR has been the leading receiver. Outside of that game a TE and we even have 1 were an RB has out gained them also. None of them have had over 100 yards receiving yet and we barely have any over 50. Who does this fall on? Is it our QB not trusting them or having the arm strength to get it to them deep? Is it the play calling not putting them in the best spot to get open and turn it into big plays? Is it on the WR not getting open and being bullied (clearly their drops dont help)?

THEY ARE NOT VERY GOOD WRS. All this has been said before but when they are open, they drop passes. They rarely make contested catches. They cannot beat man coverage. They don't provide yards after catch, they can't break tackles. They aren't physical. The list goes on and on.

theyre very overrated as far as recruiting ranks go. harley is a WR best suited for a midtier program. pope in all honesty is a G5 talent at best

It's certainly not an arm strength issue with King. He probably throws the best deep ball of any qb we've had for quite a while. As of now our wide outs are average and they don't get good separation. Drops have also played a big factor into yardage numbers.

His arm strength is there and we saw that in the other games but he really underthrew a lot of deep balls on Saturday.

Saturday night he underthrew nearly every deep ball, and on the 2nd interception, not only was it underthrown but also thrown to the inside instead of the outside. Perhaps it was more wet ball than arm strength, but I have seen him underthrow others in other games as well, and those conditions were dry.

Receivers are a bunch of girls. At least the starting 3 Harley, Wiggins, and Pope.

Someone will come on here and give us an excuse. I was a big fan and proponent of the guys we have on right now. But there has been already several coaching staffs several wide receiver coaches and several Schemes. And nada

My thing is that elite is elite no matter where you are no matter what position or scheme you’re in. Jordan has been a stud. Richard’s stud. And they all did it the day they stepped on campus. no playbook needed to be adjusted no special coaching needed to be needed no route running technique needed to be polished no playbook had to be learned or nuances figured out. They stepped on campus And dominated in practice. They dominated on Saturdays.
But here we have some dudes that been here three years juniors and seniors and none of them has been able to show that they can even make aall ACC roster.
Meanwhile the Tar Heels have two dudes that look like they’re about to get drafted early.
Every Saturday you can watch football and see tall fast strong dudes all over college football catching and running and scoring touchdowns and we haven’t had anybody that consistently produces even close to the level of Richards and again even more mind-boggling considering where we live.

Everybody wants to bang on rump but Our wide receiver room isn’t too far behind Although it is deeper. At least our secondary can say that they have pretty good defensive passing stats.

bingo. the WR is vastly overrated. pope busted and nothing has changed. harley is who he is. hes not a sure handed guy either. wiggins has one route and isnt physical. none of the receivers really get any separation either making it even harder on the QB to make a deep play

he was kinda off on that pass sat night but we have zero wiggle room on that pass bc of the lack of separation imo. it cant be perfect every time for our receivers to make a play.

And their awareness. It’s horrible

Right Pope in your 3 and peolle like he learning. Harley is apparently dyslexic because always goes in wrong direction with the ball
