Stadium Not Ready?

Me thinks you don't have a clue what you're talking about based on current ticket sales.

You guys are hilarious. I'm a huge UM fan, but I'm also a realist. UM fans don't show up in huge numbers for these crappy games even when we're dominant. I was at UM in the late 90s early 2000s and we still had half empty stadiums for FAMU and the like. Deal with it. It's reality. We'll check in with you in a few months to see if you've attended all of these games.

Please go back and watch the video (not look at the numbers, but video) for the last times we played FAU and FAMU. We get 50,000 with Golden and Shannon as coach. We'll get more for the first game (s) of the Richt era. Trust me, I've been a Miami fan since I could walk in the early 80s growing up in Miami, I know all about our fans.

This. We use to get more for FAMU during the OB days. I believe in the early 2000's we had 60k+ at the OB. Night games at the OB were so much fun.

68K in 2002 and 70K in 1992. We also had 55K in 2010.

Let it go man. I don't care about your UM reported numbers and you don't care what I think about our terrible attendance.

And I was exaggerating about our attendance a bit to make a point. We've beaten this horse to death. Let's move on

Sounds good to me

Move on from what? The fact that we continue to lease in someone else's garbage stadium and our landlord is telling us we can't conduct business because of their incompetence with the renovations? The fact that attendance has taken a major hit since we moved to Ft. Lauderdale? The OB wasn't always full but it wasn't as embarrassing as SLS has been. As a fan, that's unacceptable to me. You can continue putting your head in the sand.

You say "we"

Who's "we"

Also, you're dead wrong about the attendance in the OB vs SLS. You must not have been to many or any games in either.

Finally, what's your solution? Please provide actionable details.

Number of tickets sold has actually gone up in SLS versus the last 4 years in the Orange Bowl. Everybody remembers the sold out FSU games but conveniently forgets the 25,000 people who showed up for Temple or Rutgers.

What's embarrassing is that there's fans who believe a new stadium will immediately change the fortunes for the program. Especially after seeing what happened with the Marlins. A new stadium will bring in folks for a season, after that, the team has to win big. Otherwise you jsut have an empty, new stadium. Also, because UM "fans" refuse to show up to home games, it's somehow the stadium's fault?

Fort Lauderdale?? SLS is in the Gardens, Miami-Dade fire rescue does the medical aid for the games. Anyways OriginalCanesCanesCanes I would try to get a deal with the Marlins or the new Soccer stadium going up but I don't think we can get out of the dolphin deal

Would playing at Marlins Stadium conjure up some bad ghosts from the premature demise of the Orange Bowl?

Idk, but the setup looks pretty cool to me and if you close the dome, that place would be loud as ****. Here's the pic of the setup for the Miami beach Bowl

Marlins stadium is impossible. Did you see the biwl game that was played there? It's a nightmare configuration and logistically impossible to have football there while a baseball season is in progress.

The soccer stadium idea is a joke. It's never happening. Only retárds want us to play in a 25k high school stadium with aluminum bleacher seats.

Nope. We're at SLS for the foreseeable future, which is at least ten years, if not our lifetimes.

People constantly blow hard about our own stadium, without even giving consideration to the logistics or feasibility. It's retárded thinking.

Yep, and the Marlins are at home two days later, so they aren't going to put a whole lot of effort into making it football friendly for one game.

In 92 we averaged 55K not 70K and even in 02 when they said 69K it was grossly inflated as we had only 1 real sellout. I have been attending games since 1963 and we have only soldout when we played a big name school. It is what it is.

They were talking about the FAMU games, not the averages for those years. Get with the program.

That would be an embarrassing home field. FSU and UF would have a field day. That has to be the worst football location in all of sports. Stands forever away, baseball diamond, and only one sideline seating option. Gross man.

Yea now that You mention it that far sideline seating is extremely far away and the partial baseball field looks tacky
