Sometimes it's scary how much we think alike. From it taking longer than expected, to feeling like a shoddy job will be done to speed up the process... As much as I want to believe the stadium will be nice when finished, it's hard not to think about all the corners they will cut just to have it "ready". I also wondered how well that skirt will hold up to ANY kind of wind. Just an uneasy feeling the more I think about it. Now, I'm no engineer, but something just doesn't sit well with me.
I was excited about the changes to begin with, and had it been ANY other organization doing it, I'd feel much better about it. Knowing it's the Miami cheap@$$ Dolphins... It concerns me.I wouldn't go near that death trap for the first few months. They're going to have a bunch of illegal immigrants in there squirting Crazy Glue all over the place trying to get that project finished on time. I fully expect one of those giant screens to fall onto a group of drunken sots and crush them.
I'd be more concerned about them not finishing on time than the construction work not being up to code. There's mountains of red tape and countless inspections. Construction code is a million times more rigorous here than most other places due to Hurricanes. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say there will still be minor details left unfinished before the start of NFL pre season. All the other concerns about having to play in another stadium are unwarranted.
