Stadium Naming Rights

Read in the PBP something about No name stadium. Seriously though they just gotta stick to one name for that place. Whoever keeps changing it is acting like a high school sloot goin from one guy to the next

Instead of Joe Robbie? Why is that?

Because I was born in 1992 and was an avid Marlin fan so from 1996-2005 Pro Player Stadium was the only name I knew for the building. It wasn't until I got older that I learned the Joe Robbie history.

Fair enough. I figured you were older due to your name. I guess his offspring can be a wide variety of ages. Shoot, I graduated high school one year after you were born.

I have actually no biological relation to Ted Hendricks whatsoever but he's my favorite player ever and he played for Miami and my favorite pro team with the Raiders so he's my guy. We're both really tall and have mustaches so as far as I'm concerned we're kindred spirits.

Met the Stork and Jim Otto at a Raider game while in High School. Although, It was before I really knew who he was, which kinda sucked. I knew who Jim Otto was though.

I'm jealous of that. I've met some of the younger guys like Phillip Buchanon and William Joseph but I haven't gotten to meet the old superstars.

Playing in a stadium named after a foreign airline or a hotel/restaurant/casino chain owned by our biggest rival's namesake?

Sweet.

Speaking of stadiums; my boy went to Stanford's spring game yesterday and it was held At Cagan Stadium which is where the soccer team plays, instead of Stanford Field this year. He said it was a way better experience b/c the fans were so close to the field and the intensity of the fans could easily be heard. He said the Canes should really consider partnering with Beckham and see if they can get a decent size stadium w/ soccer dimensions b/c it makes the crowd experience difference. I pretty much told him that ship had sailed but good to know from a fan's perspective.

In honor of our politicians we should name it the Preparation-H Bowl. We all know in the end where all the sh*t ends up.

It was kinda crazy because I went with my entire high school football team after our season ended, but they were all 49er fans. I was the only person who even knew who Jim Otto was; And I just remember shaking his hand, and it being massive.

I actually met Gabe Jackson at the Oakland Airport when I was flying here for school this semester.

Jim Otto's nose looks like a small comet.

I met Demarcus Van Dyke's grandfather on a plane once. He couldn't have been nicer.

I've always either called it Pro Player Stadium or Joe Robbie.

They really should stick to calling it Joe Robbie.

if it was Qatar Airways maybe we could have that crazy jihadi war cry come over the PA throughout the games or just have all the fans do it. Maybe it would help with cultural assimilation??? Much more of an upgrade from that dumbass song about the fox and his animal friends. I felt shame every time that happened.

As an example...

Sweet.

We got a lake named after their mascot in the middle of our campus, so why not?
