This isn't on the media. The veteran players should be held accountable for their idiotic actions. They know better. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious.

I'm cautiously optimistic, considering Grace, AQM and Coley have remained first-teamers. You have to think that Richt would be giving back-ups more first-team burn if he thought we'd have to play without these guys. Fingers crossed.

It's been known for months that Coley has been investigated. It's also known that AQM and Coley will be fine. Young got hit the hardest and Grace might miss half the season.

But Barry "I'm 3 months behind on everything" Jackson writes a short blurb and people freak out
 
Assuming you've come to emotional terms regarding possibly saying goodbye to Grace then your panties shouldn't get too bunchy if we're talking a couple game suspension at most for the other names involved as you actually remember what our schedule looks like. More unnecessary noise but it could be worse (*hopefully).

When is this investigation going to be done and the penalties known? Will it be before the first game, or is there any chance this drags on into the season?

How long can an investigation like this possibly take? Ask them if they paid for the rental or not, determine if it was just a test drive, and if not find out how much it costs to rent one and end the sh*t.
 
Good news is that this all seems to fall under UM's jurisdiction. No NCAA, so we should no prior to the season what's up.

This is how this **** goes. I told you guys that it's likely be a bunch of our best players involved in this nonsense because those are the guys that agents/favor-seekers target. Reminds me a little of that UNC debacle before their opening game against LSU several years ago.

I also told you clowns that the NCAA wouldn't be involved at this stage. UM Compliance will conduct its investigation and present its findings and proposed penalties to the NCAA.

The penalties are likely laid out already based on the amount, if any, of the impermissible benefits received. For example, $1k in benefits results in X amount of games suspended. Remember Jacory and Vernon and those dudes. They determined how much they took and the punishment was determined off that.

Are you sure it was just a single event with a car rental company? Or, as is often the case in investigations, could there have been more garbage uncovered?

All we know is what the press is guessing at right now. A guy can get investigated for a rental car and then be found to have been up to all kinds of dumb ****.
 
I realize nearly all top guys in cfb get some benefits but for Christ sake we are just coming off of probation and these guys have to know that the NCAA would love nothing more than to **** us right in the *** with no lube!
