St. Louis rotating in at LT, Milo moves to G

Is this correct?

Tackle: Darling, Odogwu, St. Louis, Knighton, Loftus, Johnson

Guard: Isidora, McDermott, Gauthier, Milo, Jones, Mahoney

Center: Linder, Gall

I have a feeling you'd see McDermott move to T before you'd see Knighton or Loftus out there.

McDermott has seen quite a few snaps at LT in practice/games in the two seasons prior unless I've been smoking crack.

My two cents is that he should be the backup LT, particularly since he's slimmed down. But if he hasn't practiced there at all in 2016 then perhaps not. Then again, St. Louis hasn't practiced there either until today. Seems like a potentially glaring problem.

I don't even love Darling at LT, so you're rightly concerned about the backup situation at LT.

I'm blindly optimistic about Darling as a LT. He gave up a sack in the bowl game but considering how rough his first few games were, it's a credit to him that Kaaya never got completely cut in half. And Searels did coach Andrew Whitworth at LSU and he's one of the top tackles in the NFL, so there's some hope.

Prefacing each of my posts with "from the little I've seen..."

Our first team OL has looked surprisingly clean in pass pro. I was a bit disappointed with them in the run game, but that may have to do more with just how impressive some of our DL flashed.

I caught St. Louis leaning a bit and wiffing, but otherwise was also fairly solid at RT. I think this experiment at LT is long overdue. He's going to have his hands full across the board, though. From AQM to Joseph Jackson, guys are doing bad things out there and the complexity of Diaz's packages will make guys' heads spin. Nonetheless, I think it's a tremendous sign because it may finally mean they're prepping him to be a legitimate swing tackle and, perhaps, a real LT some day soon.

A nasty d line tends to make a nasty o line...thank you Diaz and Kool

What are the technical differences between playing right and left tackle? The practical implication is that the qb can't see if the lt gets beat but I was wondering about how actually playing the position differs.

Good question for Gogeta.
I'm far from an expert but the obvious would be that you are kicking out with the other side of your body.

Been waiting on this one for a few years...In our glory days in scrimages, the defense always gutted the offense, then game time rolled around and it became easy for the offense...20/30 years ago I always worried about our offense because of the reports that they couldn't do anything against the defense,,,Hope the worm is turning..

Jahair Jones will be working exclusively as a security guard if he doesn't tighten up.

There is an opening for a security guard at Hard ROCK Stadium, maybe you could put in a good word for him,

He's just a redshirt sophomore so hopefully the light comes on at some point. I've been tough on the guy so I'd do my best to get him a job at the stadium however I could if/when the time comes.

You are a wise and kind gentlemen, very impressive.

We need another backup for the center position. If Linder goes down, we're left with "The Turnstile" as center. God help Kaaya if this happens.

DMoney called Milo moving inside.

Man, we're thin at OL. We have too many JAGs there.

**** poor recruiting the last few years on the OL. We've gotta pray that one or two of these Golden specials works out with proper prep by this staff, and quick. We need to land on 2 more really, really strong OL in this upcoming class, IMO.

One of the main issues though simple...that kick step and set is differet on both sides and takes some time getting use to. I played both...RT my whole high school career..then left in college.

On the left you may see more speed rushers, blitzers, than on the right. Me personally i like my athletic guys on the left side...Bar Milo must of been a punching bag this camp to be moved inside.

Gogeta this may a really dumb question...but does it matter at all if they are right handed or left handed?
One side of your body is dominant and stronger.

I'd say it's easier for a right hander to play LT, than RT.

Reason being, if you compare it to a basketball defensive slide, naturally, it's easier for right hander to slide left, than right.

Can't speak for gogeta4, but that's JM2C.
