Squeakers

When you can't complain about winning you complain about style.
When you know you have the players to really compete with anyone but you’re squeaking out games against horrible teams you know you’re a good coach away. It’s ok to have standards even in victory.

Anyone expecting this team as it is right now to be drastically better just because the talent we have now is gonna be older is in for a let down.
Imo better coaching will give us a better record than we have now. But we lack so much depth and talent that we will need to address and not miss on the evaluation of recruits and the portal.
And there simply is no way I can trust a dude like Diaz to do what he hasn’t been able to do in 6 years and that’s recruit and evaluate elite talent and coach them well enough to make this defense drastically better.

Yes we have squeaked out some wins and lost some squeakers and most here think that we should blow out everyone we play. It makes me wonder if they just watch us. Meanwhile the top teams are squeaking louder than the U. Cincinnati today with game day in their yard squeaked by a lame Tulsa team. Alabama squeaked by a lame lsu team that fired their coach. Clemson just survived against a mismanaged Louisville team. Every week college football parity is getting more and more obvious and we are on the upswing and many of the "desirable" coaches are struggling. I am not the least bit concerned if Diaz gets another year , especially since he has our kids playing Hurricane football. Full effort is all one can expect. We old timers get criticized for living in the past yet many do not realize that we were proud of our Canes in quite a few losses, losses that cost NC's but no one could deny that our Hurricanes played with passion and love for the game, something I am seeing in this team. All we've lacked lately is a leader like TVD and he is a freshmen who will even get better. Quit complaining and enjoy what we have going for us.

Now go ahead and tell me how horrible Diaz is...I won't listen. I do not want another cycle of rotating HC like a Fuente who was perfect fit for VT The grass is always greener on the other side. With the portal weak teams are getting players they never thought of when players were locked into their commitments, its a new era in college football. one of parity.

I'll take the squeakers any day over an L

It really isn't.

Standards for victory are for fans and people who haven't played the game. Not people playing for their future.

Its hard to win a college football game against other programs.

Blow out everyone? U chatting ****. We have not blown out a single team except the high school team. Asking for 1 dominant win, turns into asking for everyone to be dominant win. Thats how u people lie and mispresent what fans have been Asking for and expecting of the team and staff.

You do realize we are a field goal away from leading the division and just a few points from a solid record. Norvell replaces Taggert and the fans are ecstatic, Fuente is the answer at VT, Mack Brown returns to rescue NC....so who is our next super coach going to be that flops???? If folks cannot feel and see the drastic improvement lately they are blinded by their hate of Diaz. How can so many not recognize the improvements compared to the recent past. We will remain in mediocrity if we start over again.
Fans here want better yet say quit supporting the team, stay away from Hard Rock, like that will help the U finance your Mario who'd be a fool to come back to the U. Begging for losses will really inspire top recruits to sign here. At this time the kids deserve our full support when it is obvious they are playing with fervor and intensity. Absolutely disgusting that so few are supporting the product of today, gutless posters who flow with the majority. You don't deserve to be fans.

Who is with me?
Me. It is simple. You want 5 star talent???? Fill the fking stadium!!!! Yes, it’s your fault!

Hey 88, go to. Fking game and if you do get your freinds to go. Players and Great Coaches go to schools that have great fans. Miami has **** fans in the aggregate they don’t go unless they are 10-0. Why go to the U as a great coach when no one supports you when adversity hits.

I m just enjoying what we have warts included. Several first or second year players are special. QB, RB, WR, and TE are fun to watch. The three safeties we have are the best trio in the nation as far as I am concerned. Team has a lot of dog in it. Frankly I am tired of reading the negativity and often viscous posts when we WIN.

You mentioned two top 10 teams. It’s okay to squeak out a few wins here and there when you have no losses or 1 loss, especially when you’ve handled the majority of your opponents. But when you get blown out in an opener vs Bama, **** your pants in the 4th quarter vs Michigan State, allow App State to go down to the last minute, then give the game away vs UVA and UNC you have no excuse.

Miami has had a talent advantage in every game except for Bama. We play in a weak conference. We should be a 1 loss team right now.

I like how you used Bama as an example. So UF is in shambles and got blown out by a ****** USC east team, they gave Bama a game and we couldn’t?

You’re argument to defend this sorry staff, and Manny Diaz is terrible. Can’t believe there’s people who believe Manny is the guy, he lost to FIU and Louisiana Tech, in the same season. Case closed.
Calm down brother, Manny still needs training wheels in year 3, apparently.

We never had top 10 talent. That's why freshman have taken over so many jobs.

Believe your eyes. TVD is going to be a star. And that means that Manny is going to level up.
You’ve obviously missed the Miami trend that underclassmen starters eventually get replaced by more underclassmen because they regress. No one automatically gets better year after year at Miami

Some of you have to be trolling because no human being can be this obtuse without having an ulterior motive No one is asking for consistent blowouts, all we are asking for is a well coached, competent product. Miami isn't anywhere near competent anywhere. When you watch this team, you are amazed that a team can succeed despite not being coached in any way whatsover. A classic example would be the fumbles yesterday. Usually after a fumble, the position coaches EMPHASIZE ball security on the sidelines. Guess what I didn't see? Position Coaches getting on guys, and you could tell, because guys kept carrying the ball like a loaf of bread. Rooster has been iffy with the rock for going on two years and you haven't seen any indication that anyone has tried to coach him. Rooster should be carrying a football around campus, with the expectation that if anyone other than Rooster returns it to a coach, there would be **** to pay. That said, Miami doesn't believe in accountability. Not this Miami program anyway.

When you see guys on defense continue to make the same mistakes OVER AND OVER again, that means that they aren't being held accountable and odds are they aren't being taught how to fix said mistakes. Gameplans seem to be random, with no overarching theme or point of emphasis. You can tell that this staff is **** poor in regards to teaching, because it doesn't take a genius to teach tackling. It doesn't take a genius to explain to defensive linemen the concept of contain. It doesn't take a genius to successfully teach pursuit angles. Miami fails at all of these concepts and fails at a level unseen anywhere in FBS, even with teams with significantly lesser talent.

So you guarantee a new coach will automatically be better (with James picking the coach)...gimme a break!
We all want James out. Who said he’s picking it? He’s not picking the coach next time and hopefully they move him along first.

And yes, the odds are that we get a better developer of talent if they move on from both.

Once again I ask the board the age-old question …

Fraggle: PoRster or Troll?

Not a troll. Just an old school Cane with a different perspective.

Right like Jaelin Phillips and Greg Russeau and Zion Nelson.

You guys are deliberately looking past the successes to the failures

Dude, you are so tiresome with constant accusations of trolling to everyone with a reasonable intelligent opinion and not this consensus psycho hysteria fueled by 20 years of disappointment and unrealistic expectations. This season has been a huge disappointment but it still amazingly has the potential to be a memorable one. We find the negativity to be suffocating.

I would guess a younger fan who only knows “hurricane football” based on last 20 years.
