Spring Transfer Portal

It's on twitter. Has to be true. /s

Definitely made that one up - Travis's only chance to succeed is continuity with Norvell and that system. All the more reason I'm shocked about TVD - why would you entertain transferring 4 months before kick-off in your money year in a system that fits you and personnel that you're familiar with? 4 months isn't enough time to get comfortable.

Had this happened in December/January - I'd totally buy it.
I actually expected him to leave in December after that nightmare of a season. But like you said makes no sense to spend all spring learning the offense and build that rapport with our WRs if just gonna leave in the summer

Normally I’d agree with you. Sounds fishy…but from the Ohio St side of things, I do know they’re not happy with the QB room. Spring game wasn’t good.

Had to delete my previous post but I’m waiting on more concrete info than just Twitter. I don’t know if they’d be willing to pony up a ton of cash for him.
To me TVD to Alabama makes less sense than Travis to OSU. At least Day is a QB factory. I'd chance that for a good pay day. But Norvell has put Travis in a great position as well that no one thought he'd ever get to.

Rees has only ruined a few guys at ND and can't get anything out of Milroe and a 5 star Ty Simpson in his first spring at Alabama.

This is a naive statement. Dismissing things out of hand. U have. U have no idea the money they are throwing at some of these players. Come ball out in a proven system, maybe go playoffs and go NFL with a big bag already.

thats our guy!

The narrative on OSU has flipped so hard from when we thought we could get Inniss because they didn't offer NIL to now they're throwing around a ton of cash to poach a top 5 Heisman candidate QB 4 months before the season in his money year.

I'm not going to be surprised by anything - Alabama, OSU, Georgia, etc. all have QB deficiencies and will probably stop at no end to fix it. Totally agree there. Just think it would be dumb on the player's part due to the timing of it.

Like I said - Travis (or even TVD for that matter) to OSU to play for Ryan Day makes a lot more sense than someone banking on Tommy Rees to do something for them - assuming this is mostly NFL future-driven and partly NIL driven. If it was Alabama with Jeudy, Smith, Waddle in the WR room.. zero hesitation. But Brooks, Burton, and Benson aren't moving the needle for me. The OSU WR room on the other hand.. sign me up.

Its not flipping narratives, them not having money and them not wanting to spend it on a WR who i think was overrated are not the same thing. They always had money. Not sure who told u they dont or didnt.

Not saying you're flipping the narrative. Everyone has flipped the narrative about them - including themselves if they actually started buying into NIL because they legitimately weren't and didn't think they needed to be until right before signing day. That's why Miami thought they could flip kids from OSU and pursued 3-4 of their commits.

Now they're the big dogs.

They tried to act like performance and pedigree was enough. These kids want money too lol.

They're playing the game now.
