We were terrible those years so I did not notice and it would not have made a difference, you are probably right.

DBs made an insane jump last year. With all of the talent there going up against in practice, I expect them to take another huge step. Jaborie has been impressing me since day 1. We’re loaded

O’Connor takes a terrible path to centerfield; crucially, he makes a few steps vertical instead of diagonally after this screenshot. That made all the difference.View attachment 359538

He then proceeded to slow himself down by looking up and backwards too soon. Guy does not have awareness necessary.

I mean is saying he “ain’t it,” talking 💩? The thing about the old days, is they the old days. I haven’t forgotten about Dyoni Hill.

I just don’t believe he is in the same realm as our top 3 guys. And i believe we made contact — we’ll see how many bases each is worth — in the ‘26 class so the 4 corners and Ewald & Antoine will pass him up as our fourth cornerback. I don’t think it’s that controversial to bet on 1 or 2 outta 6 guys over 1.

I do agree O’Connor is good in the sense that he was good at Washington State; he was better than Charles Brantley, Jadais Richards, and Emmanuel Karnley. The staff won’t play him outta pure seniority.

I compared him to three ‘Canes who are just barely on the outside looking in of 53-man NFL rosters (Jaden Davis, Couch, and Porter Jr).

Jaden Harris was starting. Meesh Powell was considered “good”

That entire back 4 wouldn’t have played last year

I have no clue what the responsibility O'Connor had on that play....Also you admitted you don't either.
Regardless if he was wrong on that play or not a reasonable fan would see O'Connor was actually pretty good for us last season.
