Official Spring PractiSe #6 (including Scrimmage #1): Saturday 3-25-2023

This program has taken some monumental steps forward since Mario has gotten here but I’m shocked one of his 1st moves wasn’t to gut our athletic training staff and our sports medicine team. It’s long overdue
It's had a complete overhaul (when it relates to the football staff)majority of them are still with us but like with Vinny, their roles have been overhauled. We could and probably should take it a step further and just cut ties with the majority of the staff but that's harsh. My only issue is even having Vinny in any sports oversight. He's a good dude and a cane forever but he goes against doctor orders FAR too often.

Is citizen still on track to play and get snaps tho this season at some point correct
Tbh I think it’s too early to say anything for sure. I was told they’re being VERY careful with him. I don’t like speaking on injuries. I’ll just say it would be a nice surprise if he plays much next year. Don and Parrish must stay healthy and of course adding a portal rb

I would be surprised if he plays in September or early October.

Additional comments on PractiSe from Gaby and a reputable poster on 247.

Tough seeing players injured and then complications that follow in some instances, but even tougher to make judgements on the medical staff. Hard to believe any one is going against doctors orders, once let alone FAR too often. Seems like a rather bold statement. If true, the individual shouldn't have a job.

Unfortunately, it can be a cruel & heartless game. Young man showed a lot of early promise & hope he gets healthy, but need to recruit & stock talent at the position. Need to view as a bonus if he returns & definitely bring in another rotational back before summer camp.

You actually have no idea what you’re talking about. This is like grabbing a bum off the street and asking him to perform brain surgery. That’s your level of knowledge.

I know some of you think this is great, and I understand that perspective Because Lord knows, there are some imbeciles embedded in all walks of life, but I think the way that this program is handling fandom in general and yes, the media is a conduit for that, after a losing season is absolute bull**** and very shortsighted.

when you’re raising ticket prices like they are after losing season, you could use as much excitement as you can to overcome it if you want to put more asses in seats And clichés or lockdowns like it’s the NSA are sort of a joke.

ACL injuries are typically 12-18 month recoveries. Guys can come back sooner but outside of AP it's usually about 2 years before they look normal. If he sustained injury last fall late October seemed most realistic. It's only been 7 months not sure what CIS was expecting here.

Well I'll just speak on my nephew. Mind you I've known Vinny since I was a teenager myself. So with my nephew when he had his injury. I sat with him at u health while Dr Kaplan did the surgery on him. I sat with him in the room till he was released later that day. Spoke with Dr Kaplan myself and listened to him giving instructions to my nephew regarding his meds and his rehab. Baez came to pick us up and I took him back to his apartment so I could make sure he had groceries and his chick knew everything necessary too. The very next day Vinny wanted to see us so he could check on results. #1 issue the Dr didn't even want the wound uncovered for 3 days and he had to stay off his feet for a week. Vinny undressed the wound and had him doing exercises on it the VERY NEXT DAY. When I spoke with Mandy and enos about it they simply said you know that Vinny will always put him in the best position to succeed. I had my doubts but I didn't want to scare my nephew. He just needed support because he had never been injured before. He was scared. Long and the short of it that injury had to be addressed several times and didn't heal completely for roughly two whole years. I have issues with feld but it's minor compared to kids having to deal with Vinny at this point. BUT as I said Vinny's role has been changed greatly and from what I've seen it's more advisory than anything else.

UM football is still a massive bargain compared to every single one of our rivals. MASSIVE. And it will be again, this year, Go see how much your seats cost at 6-7, two losing seasons in a row UF, and oh, make sure you include the amount of their mandatory donations. If you want a competitive product, you need to support it. The AD is a non-profit entity that needs to make ends meet and balance their budget.

You want them to put their best foot forward first? They have and they are. We stole Clemson's AD (multi-million dollar contract), Oregon's Pac-12 and Rose Bowl winning HC ($80M contract), raised the staff and support budget to #1 in the ACC, and are building a $200M football facility.

Your ticket price isn't based on last season's win total. If you need some sort of non-sensical measuring stick, then just tell yourself you're paying based on the top 10 recruiting class we just landed. :)

We are not a program in crisis, anymore. The administration has made the commitment. We are building.

Yeah, seems shortsighted & a little extreme. Understand the idea of closed practice/scrimmage, but you still need to feed the beast & filter out some info to the fan base. At least talk to the media after the scrimmage & throw out some general BS. It's not like the local media is aggressive & works against the program. ****, the Miami Herald's imbedded scribe is only digging for weights, body fat percentages & who's on the bike.
