Some of my takeaways

I love the new coaches. They are definitely excited to be at UM. Coach Guidry told me even thou he is from Louisiana he never wanted to coach in the SEC. UM was the only DC job he was really coveting. He feels with the type of athletes he can recruit at UM that his defense is going to be elite. His energy is infectious. The defense is going to be fun to watch this year. He does a great job disguising what he is doing. Alot of movement. He is not afraid to blitz and we will see alot of mixed coverage

I know David is not confident or comfortable with the CB group but they looked good on Saturday. Brown and Porter did a great job in coverage. Couch and graves made some plays but they need to be more consistent. We definitely need more depth. The safeties are going to be counted on to make alot of plays in this defense. They will line up all over the field. Kitchens and Markeith looked good on Saturday. Harris is going to be good at safety once he gets comfortabl

The Dline is going to be the strength of the defense. Once all the injured players come back it’s going to be a feeding frenzy. Dline is not going to be asked to just take on blocks. A lot of slanting and twistin

The LBs looked good overall. Super aggressive and they will be blitzing a ton. I didn’t see a lot of missed tackles. Francisco, K4, Wesley and Flagg was flying around making play

Coach Dawson is going to run a balance offense. He loves using the TE’s. After meeting him you can tell he is a players coach. The offense is going to generate a lot of explosive plays. We are going to run the ball and TVD is going to have a big year if he stays healt

The Oline improvements are night and day. The line is big and athletic. They do a good job of communicating. Going to need to stay healthy. The depth is not grea

Definitely need depth at RB. Chaney and Parrish made some plays. Chaney had a scary moment when he got tackled from behind on a play he fumbled. He limped off the field, but came back in later and had like a 25 yd TD ru

The WR group is definitely going to be a strength on the team. Coach Beard is going to have these guys ready to play. They will definitely be technically and fundamentally sound. Young is going to have a big year. TVD and him have great chemistry. Horton has gotten bigger and he runs great routes. Jacoby is going to have a break out year. He just needs to be more consistent. X is going to lead the team in catches. He is so smooth in and out his rout

All the TE’s looked good. The young Pups are definitely talented. They will be asked to block in the run game. They will be TVD’s security blanke

The structure and pace of practice was awesome!! The transition from period to period is fast with no wasted time. The energy of the coaches during practice is insan

The team looked noticeably bigger!!

From a High School football coach who said he watched the scrimmage.

Alright. Done with the characters. Y'all are comparing me to Nysom now. Kills the fun.

The thing is, if you have a shtick, most have to be in on it for it to work, at least in this circumstance. For example, I have no idea what this is about. As you mentioned, it’s a reference to some movie or some media that I’m not aware of. Therefore, your posts are off to me.

Nothing personal, but I think you can understand why your posts might be a little disconcerting if someone is not in on your pop-culture references.

Totally agree on shticks , most have to be in on it.

Oof. .... You remind me of me 20 years ago with the Kool Aid. I've added my comments in red.

UM was the only DC job he was really coveting. He feels with the type of athletes he can recruit at UM that his defense is going to be elite. His energy is infectious. Agree

I know David is not confident or comfortable with the CB group but they looked good on Saturday. Brown and Porter did a great job in coverage. Couch and graves made some plays but they need to be more consistent. We definitely need more depth. Porter and Couch are not Top P5 CBs, as much as I wish they were. They're too limited.

Definitely need depth at RB. Chaney and Parrish made some plays. Chaney had a scary moment when he got tackled from behind on a play he fumbled. He limped off the field, but came back in later and had like a 25 yd TD ru Agree. But will there be a RB good enough in the portal willing to come to Miami?

The WR group is definitely going to be a strength on the team. Only if we get a true #1 in the portal. As is now, they won't scare any defenses.

This character is owning one of the most used memes on here, I was actually expecting most people to know it. My bad.

Guys I'm not saying more than this. As I've shared it's been addressed. Something's are simply better off left in house. Maybe the backstory was one of those things in hindsight. I was simply trying to put people at ease that the trainers etc have new guidance. We're in a better place NOW

I've been around the 4 greatest orthopedic surgeons of our era:
  • Richard Steadman, in Vail, (for knees, and I have personally known two world cup skiers whose careers he saved)
  • James Andrews, in Birmingham (for shoulders/arms. operated on my uncle after an injury)
  • John Uribe, in Coral Gables (for a lot of stuff)
  • Bart Green (UM royalty. for spinal injuries. kevin everett is walking and not in a wheelchair as a quadraplegic becuase of him)
As great as all these guys are, and they are brilliant, I also know each one can point to patients who despise them, and who think they made them worse. It happens, and there are no guarantees. So, it's hard to take individual cases and extrapolate to say "Dr. X" is bad, or "Trainer Y is a hack."

There's always tension between/among the surgeons and the trainers/therapists and the coaches. For some obvious reasons, and some subtle ones.

It doesn't mean one or the other are not capable, or do not have the best interests of the patient/athlete at heart. It also doesn't mean they aren't working together the vast majority of the time. Even at D-1 schools where the health care resources are top-tier and extensive, at places like UM, UCLA, Pitt, Rice, Vandy, or Yale or Stanford .... things work well (at best) 90% of the time. There's too much of the human condition infused into the process to expect anything more.

That beind said, your story about your nephew is not surprising. I'm sorry he went through that. I also will say that "redistributing" Vinny was the right move, and long overdue. You are right. Things are better, the entire medical staff is more cohesive, and the kids are the beneficiaries of that, which is the most important thing.

Brook you realize Chaney is a power runner that is also a home run threat.(Had a 60 yard or so TD in the scrimage). That's why I had parish as his 2nd. Parish is not that fast but he does other things well.
For me seeing don I don't see the power. I just see him as a consistent runner with good vision who's a home run threat. He's a lil dude also so you'd want a bruiser if possible to change up pace

Go watch the highlights of his time playing before the injury in the bowl game. He was running over people consistently. While Knighton and sometimes Parish seem to go down the moment they hit contact.
