Spring Spring PractiSe 13: Tuesday April 8

95% is preposterous

5/12 playoff teams utilized back up QBs

SMU
Texas
Indiana
Penn State
Georgia

All needed their back up QBs last year to be utilized to win meaningful games last year and they all came through for their teams and were the difference in making the playoffs and not making it last year
Pretty sure he's talking long term. Not for a series or game or 2.

****, you could apply that number to the NFL as well.

Regardless, does Dawson spend any time at all with the back ups, or are they just sitting in the room while he talks to Cam/Beck?

I still have PTSD from Emory in the Bowl Game. That was inexcusable on Dawson's part.

The difference is Miami would be ****ed for a game or 2 unlike those other teams

That’s how dire Miami back up situation is at QB for the past 2 years. Other teams have depth, Miami doesn’t

Shannon Dawson agent was busy all last year trying to get him a HC job, I’m sure he’ll be trying to do the same again this year.

Ehhh….most of the time when a team wins while starting a backup quarterback it’s because the defense and running game carry the team.

Miami beat Clemson with Emory Williams just two years ago. Amazing how little the quarterback has to carry the team when the defense is lights out.

Except SMU, Texas, Penn State, Indiana, Georgia all had QBs that were capable of winning games

They weren’t relying on bums like Emory Williams

They mean from a physicality standpoint. We don’t have that guy at safety or LB that’s just gone come in and blow shît up and let you know it’s gone be a long day

I think you're misunderstanding the concept of trend setter in this context.

What an ******* comment. EW might not be an elite level college QB ... but what kind of "fans" do we have calling this young man ... that is very much needed on the Miami roster ... "a bum". What kind of low life individual makes a comment like that about one of our players who had put his butt on the line to the extent of having a major injury that he recovered from. He is doing everything in his physical skill set to HELP Miami. God I hope you don't have kids. Or reproduce.

The blame is on the coaches, he’s not Miami level. He’s being compensated way above his abilities, don’t worry about his feelings.

I hope you don’t have kids. Or reproduce the way you want to coddle these kids

Some say Led Zepplin (my all time favorite) got the metal ball rolling. They had a heavy influence on many bands after their run.
I can’t disagree. But I think Zepplin was more than Heavy Metal. To me their sound was Rock N Roll without the heaviness of beat or topic like Sabbath or Iron Maiden. I love Zepplin as well. It’s probably all semantics after a while. All great groups

And who exactly told you that? Because we don't have a rotation set at safety and 2 of them come in heavy. Far as LB we really got no clue how that room is gonna play out. But possibility exists malik goes back in that room and Bobby and Aldarius will tear your whole head off. Popo ain't no slacker either. So to say we lack physicality isn't exactly genuine since we don't know how either position group gets set.

I would argue the distinction of creating heavy Metal goes to Black Sabbath.
And I could argue that Sabbath also unintentionally created Speed Metal. I believe the song Paranoid is that spark that many years later became Speed Metal. Go back and listen to it. Crazy but that song was basically a filler on the album of the same name.
Literally exactly who I was talking about. They were the liine above Pink Floyd, and I wrote it wrong spot.

We're we ****ed the two games Emory already played? Some of y'all just trying way too hard... Do we want to go into the season feeling as if we don't have a backup? I think whoever would assume we do, would also be considered either on the spectrum(which may be far too kind) or simply a blatant ****** moron. While Emory certainly didn't look even adequate to be in the bowl game (or even on the roster) Dawson did him no favors with his pay calling either. Plenty of failure there to be passed around. Only thing I can say is on Greentree Emory has always looked up to the task. That being said in the acc we have the talent & the physicality to lean on our running game or high percentage passes to get away with **** near anyone at QB for a couple games. Especially if that's not against the roughly two competitive opponents we play yearly.

If we need a QB to come in for the rest of the game, it'll be Emory.
If we unfortunately need a QB to come in for like 3+ games, we're A) Decently ****ed regardless and B) Need to throw Nickel in to see if he can swim.
Short Term = Emory. Long Term = Nickel.

I don't think anyone in portal will be worth considering. Only exception I'd make is if its a guy who is more run-first. Cause then they can come in and at least if we're going to try to ground and pound we could have a true QB run threat which makes that type of strategy better...

We’re not beating SMU or Louisville with Emory Williams
