Spring Practice Summary: 3/22

It's only day three, but some of the info coming out of practice is very encouraging. I have no doubt that we're going to see significantly better QB play this year. Last year, we were one decent QB away from at least a 9-3 record. I do have some worries about our depth on the DL and at S, but I think we'll be able to mask them with some decent personnel management.
We will be adding 2 transfers on the the DL this summers and Bubba at safety. Depth will get better

With Hill and Nnoruka, I'm good with the DL. Just hoping Ford, Nesta and Miller can step up and be solid contributors. And with Bubba and Keontra coming in, I'm fine with Safety.

And with Tate eligible, i'm good with QB because he is going to push Kosi and Jarren. Either way, we'll have the best QB room we've had in over a decade.

My concerns are OL and CB pure and simple. I had my doubts about Kennedy so not shocked there. Really worried about our Tackle spots. And we simply need more numbers at CB. We literally have zero allowance for injuries.

For the people concerned about interior DL..if the light comes on for Jon Ford..watch out. It’s been proven that all we need is one dominating DT for this scheme to work. I like what I’m hearing so far concerning him.

Quote from Baker on the defense. Remember Day 3 of Spring practice not Fall...

"I think, overall, we still have a ways to go. I think we have great leadership but still have to bring some guys up. We’ll find 22 guys that can play at our standard, and we’re still searching for that. But overall, I’m pleased with where they’re at, I like their energy, their effort, their toughness."
