Has the team practiced outside yet? Every clip I’ve seen has been inside. I get it. they got this new shiny toy (IPF) but being able to practice in 95 degree weather is in advantage come August. IPF should only be used when the weather outside is dog sht. And sometimes you even need to get reps in sht weather. Duke game last season is a perfect example.

You can’t be ***** serious????

Kennedy and everyone on the OL will rotate around early. This is a new staff and you don't know what you've got until you've tested your players out.

I swear, a good majority of this forum (all forums for that matter) never played the sport besides your youth years and Madden. That is fine, but don't come on here questioning things like you're some **** experts on the sport.

It's like a court case in the public eye. If you aren't there for the entirety of it all, you have no idea what you might've missed. In this case, you miss a lot and the verdict can come down to just a minute percentage of the entire case.

Pads went on today during the Hurricanes' third spring practice. After individual drills, the team huddled around midfield to kick off the first day of pads with a hyped up Oklahoma drill. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed it. It was hard to see since the entire team was circled around and the media had to stay off to the sidelines, but Jarren Williams won his 1-on-1 and the team got really fired up.

Speaking of Williams, he opened up the second part of practice with the one's and Miami was practicing their goal-line set, which featured a lot of Realus George and gave us our first chance to see the O and D-Line in a competitive format. DeeJay Dallas was first up at RB and Brevin Jordan was the first tight end out, with Will Mallory joining him when Miami went with two tight ends. A clear top performer from this drill was DT Jon Ford, who looks much stronger at the point of attack in his third season at Miami. He was very disruptive and blew up at least two plays in the backfield against the first team O-Line. Butch Barry was mixing and matching with the offensive line (see depth chart below) and Tommy Kennedy got a look at center today. Nesta Silvera bull-rushed Kennedy and knocked him back pretty good on one rep. Concerns about Kennedy's strength were valid and he is just not big enough right now to hold up.

In individual drills throwing, I thought the QB's looked much more consistent overall as a group today compared to day 1, hitting their targets in stride for the most part. Tate Martell struggled at times throwing the out routes to the sidelines.

There were no 7-on-7 or 1-on-1 drills today.

Injuries: Safeties Robert Knowles and Derrick Smith were out today. DT Tyreic Martin limped off towards the end of the goal-line drills and was assisted by the training staff. LB Zach McCloud participated on a limited basis during individual drills.

the note about ford should remind canes fans that some players develop at different rate then others. Not every players is ready as freshman/rs freshman to contribute some take 2-3 yrs. Miami has had depth to let this happen naturally lately. getting it finally. Quinnen Williams gonna be a top 5 pick probably is a 1 yr starter at bama. didn't start of do much till jr year. patience is needed with some more then others. not everyone is a star as true freshman and if doesn't produce as freshman/rs fresh/sophomore shouldn't be seen as a bust or wasted player

No, keep him at CB.

Frierson should be at safety, not striker.
fr, one of the bigger safeties like Derrick Smith or Amari Carter should be the other striker and frierson should move to safety. But, maybe the coaches see something in him that makes him a better striker.

I’ll patiently wait for how things play out but can’t lie, hearing that Ford blew up a couple of plays is definitely great news as we’ll have to utilize multiple DT’s to combine what Willis III did for us last season. I’m ok with that, especially if Miller continues to develop and Chogie comes in ready for action when he arrives. Interesting OL choices initially, I wonder if Coach Barry will continue to tinker with the 1st team OL or if he’s got a good idea already on what he feels are his 1st string OL. I know it’s been only 3 practices, just hoping we solidify the OL as quickly as we can so that they get plenty of time battling our DL players, blitzes, etc. so that they gel as a singular unit. Even better if they hold up well and even push around the defensive line because that means that they’re performing well considering the defense is always ahead of the offense this early into camp.

Safety depth is the only concern. Bubba come on down.

Who cares if Nesta is third? They are rotating everyone. If Nesta ends up third that just means our DL is ******* legit.

Rooting for Miller. I honestly believe he has the makeup of an NFL star if his abilities match his size/strength/athleticism.
