Don’t get your hopes up for that… Mario has shown that when it matters we will run the ball and punish people. That only comes from repping it consistently, not just late in games or at the end of the season.

That 4 wide set is something we could do but it’s not his brand of football and he won’t lean on it heavily.

Oh I know. But it definitely would clean up the boxes and you can still run the ball with authority. Also it would get out best players on the field as much as possible.

But that’s just me.

I remember a poster saying he reminded him of Peter Warrick. i thought it was cap, but I went back.I looked at his highlights , and I saw what he was talking about. He doesn't have that 2 foot jump cut like Pete did, but his one foot cut and the way he runs like a running back with the ball is similar.The difference was that he was constantly outrunning the defense , so he didn't have to make as many cuts. A lot of us were high on him.I think he makes a lot of plays going forward.

I said I expect Upshaw to have a breakout year because he really showed flashes last season. A few people were laughing at that comment.

Both Mario and Beard have came out and said the receivers need to start blocking better this spring they aren’t as physical as they were last year. So I highly doubt they are going to be able to “run with authority” in 4 wide until they get better with that

Cool. That’s not what I meant. It’s just a difference of philosophy. That’s all.
 
Is Dawson using the TEs correctly? There is no way this is a lack of talent when we continuously get highly rated ones. Arroyo had a decent year with Cam but i have not been impressed with the scheme for them. With teams keying on the run game they should have no issues fake blocking and leaking out. Half the time they dont even seem to know what to do procedurally.

hence the reason moore better do everything in his power to get and stay healthy

I just don’t think we have the personnel to do that this year, all the while we are built to open it up in the passing game. Last year we had a monster OL built to push people around and even then we didnt hit our stride til later in the season. If we choose to be a power running team this year, we will find ourselves in close games whereas if we just sling it sprung with Mensah we probably run everyone but ND out the stadium every week.
