What if the offense was held back / toned down / vanillaed up on purpose during the spring game to make the defense look better than it really is? The purpose would be to quite down Coach D's critics - at least until the season started. You know, so they wouldn't have to listen to all "the noise" until the season started. What say you?

I think every thing was toned down. We will not know what we have till they play real games. I for one am afraid of what we will learn.

Yes, the offense was intentionally toned down just like our entire team was purposely toned down last year leading to a 6-7 record.

It's all part of Al's master plan.

The Mind of Al Golden.

I did have a good laugh when I read the cloak and dagger "we didn't want to show much". To whom? Do they think opposing coaches won't know what's coming when Coley trots Rosier out?

His defensive coordinator covers wideouts with defensive ends and hasn't stopped the fat kid up the middle play in 4 years. That's all you need to know.

Trust the process.

Couple of years ago the def looked awesome in spring offense struggle. Season came around morrris lead offense look good scored quickly and then great coach d ended up with one if the worse defenses ever in the history of Miami football

Not buying that. Why would you want any part of your team looking "bad" when you have a crowd watching? You can make things look vanilla and still have some success or look sharp. This team has been clumsy since Al came here.

Golden toned it down because he did not want to give too much information away. He kept it close to the vest. And I commend him for that.

The offense was, indeed, held back. It was held back by Coach D's fire-breathing death adders. Opposing offenses will be similarly held back all season.

Coach Al Golden will do the Ice Bucket Challenge every Saturday and on a couple of Thursday nights this fall.

Looked like everything on offense was limited pretty much to simple vertical passes.

This of course, limits the potential for injuries as opposed to crossing routes and much stuff thrown over the middle.

In any limited offense, the table is tilted in favor of the defense.

The offense sucks. Which is saying supm because our defense sucks and dominated them hahah. The sky is falling
