Spring Game at the Mecca

Is there nothing you clowns won’t bltch about?

The people bltching the most don’t even go to the spring game.

Sure let’s have a great recruiting event at Hard Rock Stadium, it is going to look so awesome: 1,000 people in a 70,000 capacity stadium.

That’ll really impress the recruits.

When we can get a crowd of even just 10,000 at a spring game, then come talk to me.

But unfortunately, with our shltty fanbase, that’s never happened. Ever. Not even close.

Miss me with that predictable clowns b!tching garbage. I'll be there. Haven't missed an open scrimmage/spring game in a decade. It's why I know the 2018 Spring game at HRS had over 15K announced attendance, but was probably closer to just over half that number.

As far as optics, empty is empty. It's bad either way. You think anybody is going to be fooled into thinking UM had a solid turnout for its Spring game because we filled up 1/2 of an 8K capacity HS field?

Obviously neither is great and I'm sure we'd all love for 45K people to show up for a UM Spring game like we're in some $ec backwater ****hole with nothing to do. But don't let the perfect be the enemy of the clearly better. If more people in the stands is your goal, more people will show up to HRS for the game than at Traz. It's a better, more convenient venue. That's not even debatable. And as far as ****ty fanbase, shouldn't UM want to make the experience better for fans that actually show up?

And it's less about impressing recruits as it is continually embarrassing ourselves. Spring game at a HS field in 2020? Aside from all the caping and excuse making for the admin's incompetence in this thread, that's the only clown behavior I see.

It should be in our contract to hold it at Hard Rock yearly. But with the current numb skulls in UM offices, I'm out kicking our coverage.

In comparison, Nebraska gets 90,000 people at $10 each to watch their sorry *** team...in the spring.

Miss yourself, by not reading my post.

I stand by my comments. I go to pretty much all the spring games that are local. The one at HRS was tumbleweeds in the stands. I doubt there were more than 4k.

Typical of the worst fanbase in college football.

They complain about all the amenities that other schools have, but are cheapasses in kicking in money.

Whine line teenage girls about not opening up a cavernous 70k stadium, and when they actually have the game there, and then a high school size crowd shows up.

Personally, makes no difference to me. HRS or Traz, I don’t care. I’ll be at the Traz to check out our new QB, and I won’t be whining like a little bltch about it.

If you’re scared to go to the Traz, just say so.

Traz just got a huge renovation & upgrade by Nike & Dolphins because of the Super Bowl.

The field is much better & the stands will be improved.

The main reason why we're not playing at HR is because it's supposedly unavailable, although I checked the event calendar for HR & nothing is booked for 4/11.

I'm not sure why people are so mad, the Spring game is meaningless & our staff likes to make it a local event for recruits.

Traz Powell is a perfectly fine place to play the Spring game, it's not going to be televised anyway so unless you're going it really doesn't matter.

Now you're just projecting.
But, PM me before the game, brother. I'll escort you to and from Traz.

Don’t think so, since I’ve been there more I’m sure than you ever have. I haven’t just gone there for canes practice games either.

In fact, with the new renovations, I anxious to see how it looks

Most people that post here don’t get the importance of the Traz to the community, and it may seem like a little thing, and it very well could be, but anything with the Miami Hurricanes that can ingratiate itself to Miami community is always helpful.

Brother, I know they got that Superbowl Community Development $$$, so I am sure Traz looks better now than it has in decades. For me, this isn't about Traz. Tropical Park, Ron Book, wherever, it's the same difference.

The fact the athletic department is saying they couldn't do it at HRS (our home stadium) because it was booked and now we are having the game at a HS stadium is a bad look. IMO, it is either total BS or more evidence of incompetence.

Like you, I had checked the HRS website and noticed that not only aren't there any events listed for 4/11, but there aren't any listed for the whole month of April. So maybe the excuse is BS and they just didn't want to pay the $$ (that's still a problem). Or maybe the athletic department fvcked up the lease agreement and/or the booking (also a problem).

Like I said, either way, it's just a bad look, man.

I get where you're coming from & I certainly don't buy the excuse that HR was booked, but even if it wasn't I just don't think having the game at Traz is all that big of a deal.

If we were televising the game on ESPN2 or ACCN, then yeah I would want it at HR too but since it's not being televised & the staff basically just wants to invite most of the local prospects we're recruiting to the game then I have no issues with it being at Traz.

I don't think it's a bad look for Miami as a program, I don't think anybody cares on a national scale, its more so just the fact we never have any visibility for our Spring game because they're never filmed like a lot of teams are.

The funniest thing is the game could easily be live streamed on Canesallaccess YTube by our own video department & wouldn't cost us a penny, the reason why it will never happen is because it's entirely up to Flake James & the HC to do it, but for whatever reason our admin just doesn't want the Spring game filmed ever.

Unbelievable. I thought there was no way we’d survive the great practice field grass disaster of last month.

Now this.

Spring game at the iconic Traz Powell stadium?

We’re officially done.

We had players that nearly died of ankle injuries and you make jokes.

Dam I wish Rolex was still open :(

New to the forums guys! Big time Cane fan up here in Boston.

Surprised Adidas is cool with us doing the spring game here considering all of Traz Powell's Nike insignia throughout the stadium. Wonder if maybe that has anything to do with why it won't be televised?
