I find this interesting & here’s y;
I’m not sure how many on this board have actually been to USC’s campus (well I know one has, for sure, since his daughter attends there). Many have said Miami is a small school located in Coral Gables; and that’s true. What’s not understood is that SC’s campus is actually smaller than Miami’s campus. SC’s main campus size is 229 Acres vs. The U’s 239 Acres.
SC is situated in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world; yet, SC does a great job in “giving” a college feel. It’s not like SC doesn’t have a TON of foreign students coming from India, Indonesia, China, Japan, Korea, etc. Granted, SC’s student body is much bigger than Miami’s, however I find it interesting that So Fla is the Mecca of Football (no offense to TX), and Miami has a hard time in drawing or giving the feel of a college atmosphere.
I do feel, being that I been to many games at the OB, it definitely felt like a collegiate atmosphere vs. the one game I did attend at SLS, which sure as **** didn’t feel like a college atmosphere. It had chit to do w/ distance, b/c the Rose Bowl feel like a college atmosphere vs. the energy. Maybe that’s y fans are sooo gun-ho to hold on to 2017 ND.
Just interesting; I agree Miami will never be a Gainsville, Tuscaloosa, Knoxville, Athens, etc., but it definitely doesn’t have to be as anemic as it’s been.
