Sports Buzz 11-19

So two of the top candidates are an OL coach and a HC who is failing so miserably his team's fans are begging us to take him. You really can't make this **** up
It should be unbelievable, but it's really not that surprising. This is pretty much what I expected them to do. Look at the last three coaching searches. Everyone thought it would be different now because Donna is gone but the reality is the people making the decision this time around are just as incompetent.

I know, I was just hoping our luck was going to change.

Charlie Strong's greatest recruiter is the man who got Miami 2 bowl bans and 9 schollies lost. So not only can he not coach a lick, but his recruiting prowess was made possible through a dirty bag man.

CAN WE STOP WITH THIS???

Charlie Strong was a good recruiter wayyy before he even met clint hurtt.

The dirty bag man..apparently had trouble bringing us results...you think he was getting them in Louisville?.

Clint Hurtt aint bout sh*t and aint that big a name...or as dirty as asome names ive seen thrown out...he just got caught up in the Nevin thing...but thats small time compared to the sec set ups....the same Richt, Mullen, names thrown out guarantee got more "game film" than Hurtt lousy *** did.

So how do I root in Texas's last 2 games? Do i hope they get blown out (likely), to continue to show what a fraud he is? Or does than then just increase the likelihood that he gets fired and Moron James "pounces" on him?

Or do I hope they win, which would make it likely that UT keeps him? But then that just makes BJ like him even more.

What world are we in that the more the guy gets embarrassed, the more likely he becomes for us.

I've been wrestling with that one myself too. How effing sick are you of having to think of potentially horrendous big picture ramifications based on single game outcomes every freakin week? I know I am. I thought this **** was going to be over when Golden's house was put on the MLS.

So hurtt was paying 3 star recruits to go to louisville? They wasn't bringing in top 25 classes.

Glad we fired Golden a month in advance and ate $7 million just to eventually hire the OL coach from ******* Bama.

And this search firm really coming up with 40 names, why not just recommend every D1 coach?

Glad you chose one comment to pick out from my post and completely ignore the rest of the facts. Glad everyone thinks we are going to get the next urban meyer or john harbaugh to come in and turn things around within a year or less. Otherwise they would be considered a cataclysmic failure.

The Texas thing does scare me and should scare you.

The Texas thing? You mean his epically cataclysmically catastrophic failure at a P5 program with every possible resource at his disposal? That Texas thing?

That's like Kris Jenner saying, "The thinking he should have a big fake festering stinky ****** instead of a ***** thing scares me" as she's attempting to forge a normal heterosexual relationship with Bruce.

He got a raw deal at Texas.

Who got more of a raw deal? Chud in Cleveland or Chuckie Muscles in Texas?

I'd say Texas got raw-dogged when they got Strong.

His record - at a big program - got everything he needs - and he's falling flat on his ***.

But guys, he had a good defense at South Carolina 15 years ago! And and and, the boosters are mean to him! And and and Louisville beat Golden and Muschamp! And and and "fit"!

I love how you mock his win vs. Florida that year. Florida beat Sumlin, Jimbo, Pinkel, Miles, and Spurrier that year. Does that make all them "corches as you would say" as well? Muschamp was a dumpster fire thats clear but you do realize that the Florida team had Bostic, Mccray, Easley, Floyd, Jordan Reed, Elam, Jelani Jenkins, all as upper class men. They were terrible and/or Strong just got lucky right???

People keep saying that Texas has all these resources, and Strong should be turning out 11 win seasons without a problem, but I have NEVER thought about Texas, the same way I see Alabama, Miami, FSU and Ohio State. I don't even see Georgia in the same league, winning wise, as those programs. Georgia and Texas resources have always been overrated when it comes to winning CHAMPIONSHIPS.

My thoughts do not change the situation we are in lol. If i sit here and beat my chest for Herman does that mean Blake is going to hire Herman? I do not hate/dislike Strong as much as you do clearly and I am fine with him being our coach. He is not my first choice, but instead of me flipping out on a message board and flying banners I will support him until he sucks at Miami. If we hire Cristobal than thats a whole different story haha.

This University is not very bright. But they are very, very concerned with perception. If it wasn't for fan outrage they absolutely would have kept Golden through this year. Fans who constantly let it be known that this wasn't acceptable actually did make a difference.

If you are just so laissez faire about who the coach should be, why bother coming on and voting at all? Or arguing?

Have you emailed Blake? Have you donated? If you care about the program, and you like Tom Herman, how bout stumping for him instead of coming in this thread and trying to argue why an 8 loss coach is a good coach? Put that effort to good use!
I wonder what role losing 58-0 on national tv played in GOLDEN getting fired. Surely the banners and emails were more of a contributing factor than the on the field **** show he produced.

No, nobody is saying he should be winning 11 games right now. But we are sure as **** saying he shouldn't be going 5-7 and losing 24-0 to awful teams like ISU.

Guys like you love to characterize your own musings as "facts" in an attempt to legitimize your opinions.

The rest of your post was horrible too, but I figured by the time I saw it this morning others would have crapped on it. And I was right.

You're all about making excuses for Wrong's horrific face plant at UT because you were probably hyping him when he was at Louisville and are now heel-digging in an attempt to protect your internet reputation as a guy who thinks he's a football savant.

Wrong hasn't just struggled at UT. He's been an abomination on and off the field and in every phase of the game including his vaunted defense. If a defensive genius can't even field a respectable defense then you know he's drowning.

Pretty simple. Yet the dudes bent on heel-digging need to turn everything into straw man central. No one thinks he should win a NC in year 2 or else he's a failure. Nope. He's a failure because he has pretty much conducted a clinic on face planting when getting called up to the big leagues.

He was a pretty good big fish in a puddle. He's been absolutely swallowed up when tossed in with some other fish that weren't floating on their backs.

If he is such a bad coach than please explain to me how he did so well at Louisville? Just because Teddy fell into his lap right?

I think strong is a good coach that Texas job was a setup for failure since day one a lot of those Texas boosters don't want a black man running there football program they wanted sabian. Strong was a bandaid he was a tool for Texas i think he would do good hear?

Okay so I hear a lot of people say he was set up to fail. I don't get it; once you have the job isn't it up to you to make the best of the opportunity? What did those Texas boosters do to keep him from winning? What has the administration done to prevent him from succeeding? Even if people were not excited about him beining hired in the first place, wasn't it his job to win them over?
