One coach has had success everywhere he's been, never had a losing season in the NFL, went to a Super Bowl, led the 49ers to three consecutive NFC Championship appearances, feuded publicly with an inept owner, and returned to his alma mater for a boatload of money. Their fan base rejoiced knowing they landed such an in-demand, high-profile, successful coach.

The other is failing spectacularly in his first crack at the big time, regressing already in Year 2, and is on the verge of being run out of town. Clueless offensively, getting annihilated defensively, and the only words people can utter to defend the atrocity known as his UT tenure are "bad fit."

Great comparison. Makes a lot of sense.

A statement was made that it did not make sense to hire a coach who had been fired. I provided an example of where that made sense. It was a blanket statement.

I really hope you didnt graduate from Miami because I would really feel bad about the education we are giving our students.

40 candidates. There are only 160 men on this planet right now employed as D-1 (FBS) or NFL head coaches. This has some real potential to get real comical real fast- especially when we hear who the finalists were and we know they rose from this supposed ginormous initial list.
