Spoke to someone plugged in

sorry all but I think Diaz would be a great hire, imagine how he was tormented having a top notch defense with a horrible offense...His defense with a respectable offense and we compete. Diaz was never a problem and coming up with the turnover change was brilliant. I am certain he would bring in a top offensive coach plus he is young and vital and full of fire, the defensive players responded dynamically to his leadership. He is old school U attitude and his defensive schemes this year utilized the talent he had perfectly, that is innovation. I suggested that he be treated like Jimbo was at FSU and be HC in waiting if Richt stayed and would be thrilled if he stayed with the U...that said it would be difficult to make it happen and shocking if James made that happen but would be good for recruiting and continuity with the defensive schemes that have been so successful...

There is ONE consolation here: Diaz knows he needs a top drawer OC and staff to keep the D off the field. BOTH Wisconsin games and the Clemson game were hard educations.

I'll preface this by saying maybe we get lucky and Diaz gets rid of all the offensive coaches and starts with an innovative OC and let's that guy hire his peeps and it all works out.

BUT

This was the typical lazy as **** Miami hiring. This hiring of a coach from a failed staff **** has to stop (Shannon, DiMare). This team fell apart this year and the whole house should have been cleaned out. Hire the best guy and start fresh. Our athletic department should be run like a big business, not a one-store family operation. Blake and the BOT approving this **** have to go. We got a gift from Richt and can't even take the time to do a proper search.
