You remember when we would just kill kick returners every time, I miss those days. There is nothing about this team that resembles the great Cane teams of old.

Getting down field to kill kick returners requires team speed. Something Golden has gotten rid of in favor of PSU-style woolly mammoths.

When you bloat your LBs up and recruit average speed, your special team units (coverage ones, especially) suffer. It's attention to detail and knowing how to put your right players in the right position - that's what determines ST success and naturally, Golden's teams are awful at it.
