For example, former South Florida Express assistant Jon Drummond told "Outside the Lines" and others that he was the go-between for Express players and college coaches. That was before head coach Brett Goetz said Drummond would not be returning next season, because he violated a "Code of Conduct" Goetz makes all coaches sign. Goetz's "Code of Conduct" essentially states that his coaches cannot use their relationships with prospects for a profit.

Drummond told ESPN that "everyone knows coaches are being paid something extra to bring recruits to campus" while denying he's one of them.

Many 7-on-7 coaches, including Drummond, drive carloads of players to campuses for unofficial visits. Some coaches are paid to work camps those schools host. Some claim to receive "gas money" from college coaches.

"And maybe something for McDonald's," Drummond said.

Swag sez: Anyone sticking their head in the sand on this is a doofus. Middle aged men do not devote their lives to bussing kids around the country to SEC campuses because they are kind fellows.

But these are classy guys that just want to give back. These guys are douche bags, just part of the bigger problem.

South Florida is an utter cesspool. I am sure this stuff happens in other states and other teams deal with it (whether the other teams recruit South Florida or similar stuff where they recruit) but since this is our local base, it is multiplied for us.

I really think things are going to get worse.

The Head Coach is a Gator....not sure what else to tell you. I know they take the kids on trips to visit some campuses etc while doing the 7 on 7 circuit.

this is overplayed. aside from this year, uf has not benefitted much from recruits on that team. as the op mentioned guys have gone to west virginia, clemson, uga, lousiville, ohio st., etc. miami has gotten more players from express than uf has over the past few years.

Yeah, but he is not a UM booster like he is UF. Don't these kids get a whole bunch of stuff for being on SFE. Since he is a UF alum and a slew his players get benefits and commit to UF? Doesn't that sound like NCAA violation. I think so. Where do we report this. Maybe we should just let Urban know about it. He likes dropping dimes on his former swamp scum.

SFE had nothing to do with it. It just gave them a chance to get closer and really lock in. They got lucky. This is the first time I can remember in YEARS where UF has pulled a SFla haul like this. Probably been at least 15-20 years when they had that run of Glades Central and Southridge/Carol City guys going there.

The best thing we can do is have a great year and make sure the 2015 kids know that UM is the place to be. The jigg is up. (And that Quincy Wilson transfers after 2 years to FAMU because he finds out he just cant cut it. That would be the icing. LOL!)

Again, time will tell but from the outside looking in, this staff seems to have a very detailed plan and goes about executing it in a very polished, professional manner. In all other areas of life that Ive been involved in, this is the type of approach that leads to high levels of success. Again, time will tell but from a standpoint of process, I absolutely luv what I see from coach Golden and staff.

i know of those i was just commenting on the guys on sfe. fsu's numbers for example ddwarfs uf in terms of dade guys. we will never be a force down there. cherry picking a few elite guys is the idea and we will see if this is just a blip on the radar or a start of renewed success for uf. based on history i'd go with the former.

I dont think its only UF, Im thinking Sony's part of this too. I can already tell you Gibson,Pierce, Bruce, Robinson and any other kid that played or wil play for SFE barring them having Duke Johnson like Miami loyalty will come here

Who are the last 5 kids from SFE to go to Miami. Guarantee you they are kids who had strong parents with strong Miami ties

man south Florida recruiting remind me of Mexico or the cocaine cowboys day... just straight up wild corrupt everybody taking money under the table... these high school coaches and street agents are one of the main reason Miami football is not on top right now.. these coaches don't care about these kids they care about that duffle bag and they always try to flip it around to make Al Golden and Miami look like the bad guys... i wouldn't be shocked if chad Wilson gave the Miami staff a price for his son services and that's why he don't have a Miami offer, Lane to you notice every since he started playing for SFE the staff kind of back off him a little....
