When you go to a South Florida spring jamboree & see 70 different overpaid college coaches huddled up in bucket hats & shades trying to protect their pasty Midwestern skin, you can guarantee they're all there patiently waiting to see the receiver talent. South Florida consistently pumps out wideouts like Colombia & Venezuela pump out big booty women. However, the 2021 class looked strong on paper but is shaping up to be a disappointment. The 2022 class might have been the weakest crop of receivers we have ever seen. It was a miserable harvest yielding no crops, and to add on top of that I had to fight off numerous Indian attacks on the Santa Fe Trail & my wife died of dysentery.

2023 more than made up for the last two classes. This year we have 33 (!) wideouts that signed with Division I schools. I expect more than a few of these guys to end up contributing on Saturdays, and for some of them, on Sundays as well.

Brandon Inniss, American Heritage (6'0" 200) - Started out at U-School until the program's demise. DOG. ANIMAL. SAVAGE. The words that come to mind when I think of Brandon. He has been killing the competition since middle school. He has a stocky, RB type of frame & he definitely uses it to his advantage, with his extremely physical style of play. His athleticism is good not great (4.26 shuttle, 31" vertical) but Inniss makes up for it with his violent hunger to win every rep. Forced to play QB as a junior after Blake Murphy suffered a season-ending injury. SFE superstar. Ohio State signee.

Hykeem Williams, Stranahan (6'3" 205) - Hykeem is built like Julio Jones and plays just like him. Basketball player/swimmer with prototypical wide receiver size & freakish athleticism. Explosive in the open field. Will go up & high point the ball. Member of Stranahan's 4x100 relay team. Pedestrian stats as a senior due to bad QB play & triple teams. 40 catches, 750 yards & 11 touchdowns as a junior, also adding 6 sacks, 8 TFLs and a pick 6 on defense. Averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds a game on the hardwood as a junior as a core piece of Stranahan's state title run. FSU signee.

Robby Washington, Miami Palmetto (5'11' 170) - Father, Bobby, arguably the greatest running back in Miami Dade County history, signed with Miami in the 2004 class. Test score issues forced him to NC State, then he finished his career at Eastern Kentucky. Robby and his twin Bobby grew up in Georgia & Tennessee, and spent their freshman year at Oakland HS in Murfreesboro, followed by their sophomore year at Eagle's Landing Christian Academy outside Atlanta, followed by Miami Killian as juniors, followed by Miami Palmetto their senior years.

Having watched his dad in high school, he is not quite as good as him. That's a testament to how good his father was, because Robby is the most explosive athlete I've seen in South Dade in at least 10 years. Every time Robby touched the ball, he was a threat to score a touchdown. 42 catches, 868 yards & 16 TDs as a junior at Killian. 43 catches, 560 yards & 6 TDs as a senior at Palmetto as he battled injury & dreadful QB play. Claims 4.37 40 and looks every bit of it. Will contribute immediately as a returner & on jet sweeps and screens. Curtis Samuel 2.0. Will need to curb off-the-field issues. Can he stay healthy? Miami signee.

Jalen Brown, Gulliver Prep (6'1' 170) The definition of vertical threat. Brown consistently uses his elite speed (10.65 100, 20.98 200) to burn opposing defensive backs. At his best when you simply tell him to run a 9 route really fast. 1,033 yards and 11 TDs on 18.4 YPC as a junior. Despite all that speed, drops have been a reocurring theme in his high school career, struggling to consistently catch the ball. Route tree isn't all it should be. Can be jammed & taken out of his game. I thought he had a much higher ceiling at DB. Will need to bulk up in college. LSU signee.

Andy Jean, Miami Northwestern (6'1" 180) - Smooth operator. He does everything well. He has elite route running skills to go along with great ball tracking (#pause) and a smooth stride. Great hands. Plays with the swagger & tenacity of a receiver from the West. 11.63 100 but plays much faster. May need to bulk up some but he has the skill set of an elite wide receiver. 409 yards on 21.4 YPC as a senior, preceded by 40 catches, 733 yards and 8 TDs as a junior. Florida signee.

Nathaniel "Ray Ray" Joseph, Miami Edison (5'8" 170) - Started out at Miami Christian. Ray Ray Joseph and Robby Washington are nearly identical players, except for two ways. One, Robby is about 2 inches taller, and two, where Robby has the straight line speed, Joseph has freakish, make-you-miss-in-a-phone-booth wiggle. 33 catches, 632 yards & 5 TDs as a junior. Track background. Cousin of FIU standout Flex Joseph. Will immediately challenge for time at returner. New OC Shannon Dawson had Tank Dell at Houston, will he do the same things with Joseph here? Miami signee.

Micah Mays Jr., The Benjamin School (6'2" 175) - Elite track athlete. State champion in the 400 (47.52) and triple jump (45'11.75") and it shows up on tape. Vertical threat that can get past anyone. Uses his bunnies to high point the ball & moss anybody. 42 catches, 724 yards, 7 TDs as a junior. U.S. Army All-American Game selection. Also plays basketball. Reminds me a lot of fellow Palm Beach County native & Wake Forest alum A.T. Perry. Flew a bit under the radar until late, but stuck with his original commitment. Dad played QB at Grambling State. Wake Forest signee.

Lamar Seymore, Miami Central (6'2" 185) - Four-time state champion. One-time Miami commit. I admittedly was not a big fan of his until his senior year, when he proved me wrong. He was a valuable piece to Central's title run, making big catches and showing the playmaking ability needed at WR. Average twitch but makes up for it with physicality, good hands & route running. 35 catches, 601 yards & 9 TDs as a senior. Brother, Laurence, is an offensive lineman at Miami. Pittsburgh signee.

http://www.hudl.com/v/2GdZp8

William Fowles, Avant Garde (6'2" 195) - Dade Christian transfer. Big time deep threat. 47 catches, 1,100 yards and 19 TDs as a junior, including a 7 catch, 204 yard performance against Pace. Uses long strides to glide past defenders & muscular frame to outmuscle them and high point the football. Very good at tracking the ball. Physical after the catch. Ran a 12.72 100 as a sophomore but plays much faster. Louisville signee.

Tastean Reddicks, Dillard (6'1" 180) - Deerfield Beach transfer. Pure technician at WR with sharp route running skills & great hands. Highlight reel full of NFL-worthy catches & touchdowns. No verified testing numbers but claims 4.53 40 and looks just as fast. 50 catches, 651 yards and 10 TDs as a junior. 4.5 GPA. Underrated. Oregon State signee.

Cataurus Hicks, Miami Central (5'9" 160) - Miami Jackson transfer. Completely unknown on the high school scene until his senior year when he broke out on IMG Academy with 3 catches for 100 yards, earning himself several FBS offers. Speedy slot receiver. Track background. Did the Cards find their next Tutu? Louisville signee.

Zay Hardge, St. Thomas Aquinas (5'10" 160) - Speedy slot receiver with sharp route running skills. Plays DB also & I feel he could do well there at the next level. Cooked Alabama DB Earl Little as a junior. Can contribute at returner. Brother, Ron, played DB at Illinois & Oregon State. Colorado signee.

Derrick Bohler, Miami Palmetto (6'1" 195) - San Antonio (TX) Reagan transfer. Big bodied target with good route running skills. Drops have been an issue for him & is something he needs to work on. Dealt with bad QB play. Played for Miami Immortals. Indiana signee.

Santana Fleming, Western (5'10" 160) - Might be the biggest fall from grace in South Florida recruiting history. Has been a star since middle school. As a sophomore, was rated one of the best wideouts in the country & was killing the competition as the focal point of the South Florida Express aerial attack. Then, for his junior year, he transferred to American Heritage and proceeded to stink it up. It wasn't all his fault, as AH QB Blake Murphy was out for the season with injury, but it severely killed his stock. Transferred to Western as a senior, where he teamed with prolific QB Collin Hurst and had a great senior season, totaling 51 catches, 930 yards and 5 TDs. Unfortunately, Power 5 coaches treated him like he had Ebola virus. UA All-American. 11.56 100 but looks faster on film. Western Carolina signee.

Javorian Wimberly, Palm Beach Central (6'0" 180) - Pahokee transfer. Might be my favorite receiver in this class. Uber-productive catching passes from Ahmad Haston. Good athlete (11.19 100) that does everything well. Can burn DBs deep or route them up. 48 catches, 841 yards and 6 TDs as a senior. 49, 987 & 10 as a junior. 4.59 GPA. I have absolutely no clue how he fell through the recruiting cracks. Central Michigan signee who I feel will be a star in the MAC.

http://www.hudl.com/v/2K01kD

Richard Dandridge, Homestead (5'10" 160) - St. Brendan transfer. Alpha dog wideout that makes up for average size with combo of route running, great hands & playmaking ability. Smooth glider. Extremely productive. Capable punt returner at next level. Also played CB and has the talent to play that spot in college. 1,130 receiving yards, 14 TDs and 4 picks on defense as a senior. Played for Miami Immortals. 22'8 long jump. Underrated. Temple signee.

Tony Martin, Pahokee (5'10" 175) - Started out first at Coral Springs, then Miramar, before transferring to Pahokee as a senior. Played QB up until senior year, where he shifted to WR and broke out with 831 yards on 18.1 YPC and 4 TDs. Speedy slot receiver with sharp cuts. Father, Tim, starred at Marshall in the mid 90s. There's a long list of South Florida HS QBs who went on to be productive receivers in college, is he next? Western Michigan signee.

Shatavious Hogan, Miami Jackson (6'3" 205) - Milledgeville (GA) Baldwin transfer. Big body receiver with great production. Five 100 yard games as a senior. 47 catches, 674 yards and 5 TDs as a junior. Basketball player that averaged 11 points and 14 rebounds per contest as a junior. He uses his elite rebounding skills to box out smaller DBs downfield. True vertical threat. Claims 4.4 40 and looks as fast. Along with Javorian Wimberly, Central Michigan signed two South Florida studs this class.

Luby Maurice, Palm Beach Central (6'0" 188) - If Ahmad Haston was Dan Marino, Luby Maurice and Javorian Wimberly were Mark Clayton and Mark Duper. Sharp route runner with the knack for the big play. Average twitch but makes up for it with ball skills and good hands. 1,677 receiving yards & 23 TDs last two seasons of high school. FIU signee.

Kyle McNeal, Dwyer (6'2" 170) - Basketball convert with athletic traits. Can beat you deep, but also good in the intermediate. Plays safety as well & I think he has a higher ceiling there. Good frame that will benefit even more from a college strength & nutrItion program. FIU signee.

Jackson Grier, St. Thomas Aquinas (5'11" 175) - Son of Dolphins GM Chris Grier. Has no film. Nepotism. Boise State signee.

Xavier Irvin, Booker T. Washington (5'10" 180) - Speed is the name of his game. 11.10 100 but plays even faster. Will burn you deep or use his twitch in the short & intermediate game. Plays DB as well & could be just as good there in college. 14 touchdowns as a senior. Also lettered in basketball. His best football is ahead of him. Temple signee.

Rashad Davis, Miami Northwestern (5'11" 185) - Slot receiver with quickness and good hands. Has the knack for big plays. Plays with the swagger of a Northwestern WR. Western Carolina signee.

Javon Robinson, Homestead (5'9" 160) - Killian transfer. Same exact player as teammate Richard Dandridge, on the smaller side but makes big time plays. Filled up the stat sheet as a junior at Killian (1K yards, 17 TDs) then did the same thing at Exit 1 as a senior. Track background. Underrated player. Grambling State signee.

http://www.hudl.com/v/2JT0Wx

Duane Thomas, Jr., Chaminade Madonna (5'8" 170) - Mater Academy transfer. Track athlete (11.21 100, 22'1.75 long jump, 42'9 triple jump) and it shows on film. Swiss army knife that can affect the game running, receiving or returning. Will burn you deep or take a screen to the crib. Extremely productive & underrated. Charlotte signee.

Corey Washington, Miami Central (5'8" 155) - Jackson transfer. Productive slot receiver with quickness & toughness. 51 catches and 689 yards as a senior, to go along with 7 TDs. Valuable in the return game as well. For some reason, I cannot find his Hudl anymore. Western Carolina signee.

Bill Young, St. Andrew's (5'10" 185) - Small school RB with big time play ability. Extremely shifty in the open field. Great hands out of the backfield & can split out wide as well. 2,267 rushing yards & 37 TDs last two seasons of high school. Signed with Army, where he will play slot receiver.

Joshua Pena, Monarch (6'1" 180) - Coral Glades transfer. Speedy deep threat that can track the ball downfield. 11.24 100, claims 4.38 40. Member of Monarch's 4x100 relay team. FIU signee.

Patrick Boyd, Fort Lauderdale (5'10" 160) - Dillard transfer. Utility man that can catch the ball, run out of the backfield, play QB & return kicks and punts. Claims 4.43 40. Western Carolina signee.

Giovanni Adopte, Avant Garde (5'11" 180) - Dade Christian transfer. Originally started at American High. The Robin to William Fowles's Batman. 35 catches, 630 yards and 12 TDs as a senior. Claims 4.4 40 and looks as fast on his film. Gardner-Webb signee.

Jamari Haynes, Plantation (5'9" 170) - Pure burner that will take the top of the defense or take a screen to the house. Will immediately contribute at returner. 10.68 100 and also claims 4.39 40. 1,631 all purpose yards and 13 TDs as a senior. Extremely underrated. Originally committed to Western Carolina but looks like he is headed to Valdosta State instead - academic casualty?

Jahem Guillaume, Carol City (6'3" 185) - Killian transfer. Big body wideout with good quickness and agility. Also plays safety. Bethune Cookman signee.

Elijah Hopkins, Dwyer (6'1" 170) - Quickness & hands is the name of his game. Good route runner. Holy Cross signee.

This is fantastic. Curious out of all of these guys - we always have that Zay Flowers or Tutu type who gets D1 but not the big offers. Who are the guys on this list that could be future 1st or 2nd or 3rd rounders?

Thanks for your efforts

I see some names on this list that is we should have taken a chance on. At least I thought so. One kid was basically begging for one and he was doing well at the camps. He was about 6’2 I think. Looked pretty good on film, but I think people were questioning his competition. Now we’re still fighting for receivers to commit to us🤦🏾‍♂️

This is fantastic. Curious out of all of these guys - we always have that Zay Flowers or Tutu type who gets D1 but not the big offers. Who are the guys on this list that could be future 1st or 2nd or 3rd rounders?
You mean guys that went G5/lower P5 that I think could be NFL players?

Exactly. Those guys. There’s always a few that slip thru the cracks.
Tastean Reddicks
Javorian Wimberly
Shatavious Hogan
Richard Dandridge
Duane Thomas Jr.
Xavier Irvin
Corey Washington

Will they do it? That remains to be seen, but I'm a huge fan of all & think they have star potential.

@itsdolphhh Why doesn't Coral Gables produce D1 kids anymore?
Bad coaching staff, demographic change in Coconut Grove, also Grove kids play everywhere now. The concept of playing for your neighborhood school these days is mostly dead. Kids follow their optimist coaches, as well as high schools have coaching staffs at Pop Warner games scouting talent

This year we have 30 (!) wideouts that signed with Division I schools.

FIU signee.

Love what you're doing with these South Florida position breakdowns, brother. Appreciate the effort and the content! Keep it up!
brad pitt thank you GIF by The Academy Awards

Added Jahem Guillaume and Elijah Hopkins. This class officially has 32 wideouts going D1, it would've been over 50 if I added the Treasure Coast & the Naples/SWFL area.

Dandridge is a stud, Irvin really looked good as a senior and they got another athlete I love in DB Darrell Sweeting.

Interesting. Wasn't impressed with Dandridge junior tape or the 1 on 1s from camp last year. Must have taken step forward.

This is a nice class to watch...

Guys like Mays slipped thru the cracks. And there is some speedsters to watch....

As the extra covid year kids move on i think south florida div 1 numbers rise....alot of these kids would typically be at larger schools honestly
