Sorry guys but Herman is not the one

For the life of me, I can't figure out why Strong is struggling so hard at Texas. Bridgewater couldn't have been that much of a difference maker at Louisville, could he? They had a pretty stout defense, as I recall.

It just mystifies me. He's like Al Golden, Austin Edition.

Two major reasons:

1)he played joke schedules again joke lower tier coaches at UL

2)just like athletes, some coaches perform better in the spotlight and under pressure than others. Charlie is wilting on the big stage. It's no different than certain players who can't get it done in the clutch.

So his "impressive run" at Louisville was overblown, and he also is someone who folds under the pressure of a major brand program.

Strong would be best served at a lower tier Power-5 program with lesser or zero expectations. He can't handle anything more, clearly. Honestly, he should take the Maryland gig.

Im kinda glad Houston lost. I hope some schools back off him so Miami can have a better chance.

The guy is going to be a beast.

In Hermans defense (I'm pro Herman) I think there is a lot of off field stuff going on with him right now. There are so many job openings that are coming after him, not to mention his own school trying to keep him. Many of times on the field play is effected by off the field. Not to mention they just had a grueling comeback win last week against Memphis. I think he would still be a great option for us if we for some reason we don't hire Butch or Chud. Or both.

I
Now everyone can gather their collective breathes and move on from the hype. He's a good coach that walked into a very good situation but loses to a terrible UCONN team. Not knocking him for it bc I already knew he isn't HC material yet at a program like UM.

Butch Davis Gary Patterson and Charlie Strong are the only legitimate options... I would rejoice in UMs return if we land any of the above 3 names.

So Herman loses to UConn and is disqualified.
Strong loses to Iowa State and is the only legitimate option.
Makes sense.

Dude you have no clue about Herman, this is his first year, and he has his 3rd string QB/WR running the offense, wait until he has all his horses together, we would regret not going after him if we don't get Butch, and about weak... We will need 2 shapiros to help out with the recruiting! LOL... Common sense is not so common! Nothing to see here, move along..

Clarify some of that, if you would plz.

Tome, weak... Is Charlie strong, he will need 2shapiros, remember he had the bagman Clint getting recruits for him, at Louisville...
On Herman, he's down to his 3rd string QB, that was really a WR during the year,
And about his horses... Once ALL HIS PLAYERS ARE THE KIDS HE RECRUITED IN THE PROGRAM... WATCHOUT!!
How's that, hopefully you can understand it since I was thinking faster than I type.. The op does not know what he's talking about!

Gotcha man. I've no idea how Herman recruits but yeah man, Hurtt was reeling them in for Strong at Looserville.

Even to mention Scrong in the same paragraph with Butch Davis is heresy. Burning at the stake is too good for you - whack yourself hard on your own pee pee.

And don't let it happen again.

The knee jerk reactions on this board amaze me sometimes. We really don't know how good Herman is yet. The indications are he's going to be very good but the body of work is so limited. Settle down a little.

So are we only considering coaches who are undefeated this season? Pretty sure those guys won't be available.

After seeing this guy (Herman) kissing each player on the cheek as they entered the stadium before the game, I'll pass. That crap won't go over here. Just plain creepy. We've endured enough Goldenization of Canes football. Please no more sensitivity B.S. from the next coach!

You're an idiot.

Flip side just look at how bad Ohio State's offense has looked without him this season. Night and day difference. Same players...

That being said still think its unwise to offer a 1st year coach the keys to a program that is looking for a more seasoned leader.

It is not too hard to figure it out.
At UL he had Clint Hurtt doing his usual dirty work, nabbing alot of soFla players with poor grades and
other issues....alot of those players would not be eligible for admission to UofTexas, which unlike UL is
a real university.
Plus, Bridgewater was that good of a QB.
So he had all that going for him in a watered-down BigEast.

With these coaches, you have to also study how they won as much or even more with how many they won.
Big difference.

LOLOL he loses by three with a WR at QB due to injury, and this effing moron wants Charlie Strong still? Jesus. Aka this whole thread was to promote his imbecile bagman Charlie.

But I thought Herman was an offensive genius who turned every backup QB into gold. That's what we heard when he beat Memphis a week ago.

So in order for that statement to have any merit, he has to go undefeated with a 3rd string QB that was recruited to play WR? Nick Saban lost to Louisiana Lafayette early in his tenure at Alabama. I guess that means people here would pass on Saban.
