Holy **** this thread delivered.
Full disclosure:
I was drinking with a friend last night (owns a restaurant in Hollywood) who doesn't exactly talk the best English, and that's putting it mildly. We were both ranting about politics in Argentina, and the thread title is how my rant ended.
He responded with "la mentira se acabo." It translates to "the lie is over" but it's really the equivalent of saying "the jig is up" in English. It's a common expression in Argentina, and is often used in chants in the stadium.
Estoy partiendo de risa. I'm cracking up reading some of these responses. I love South Florida.
